The Economic Crisis has invaded my dreamlife
My dream last night was one of those that is terrifying at the time but silly in the light of day. The previews for the new version of "The Day the Earth Stood Still," the economic crisis, and, oddly, the bouncing orange ball in the ING logo combined to haunt me.
I dreamed that we received notice from aliens on huge ships that the entire earth had to hand over all of our money, credit cards and jewelry by midnight or face certain annihilation. Everyone was scurrying around desperately trying to get these things to the designated drop point in time. As the deadline approached, the bounding orange ING logos descended from the sky and starting zapping any possessions we hadn't turned in. I watched in horror as my watch disintegrated.
I woke up in a cold sweat, panicking for several seconds before I realized that it was just a dream. But, then again, Henry Paulson bears a striking resemblance to the robot in the original "The Day the Earth Stood Still."
