Disappointing winner
The Red Eye today held their own silly election based around which a person would prefer to do for nightlife. Examples would be if somebody prefers to order from the beer list or the martini list or how they prefer to get their grove on (DJs or Jukebox). The disappointing result is that people prefer backing track karaoke over live band karaoke 59.7% to 40.3%. I'm not surprised, however. These are a couple of reasons why I think it wins.
1. More places offer backing track karaoke over LBK.
2. BTK will just naturally have more song selections.
3. More songs for girls to sing.
4. Singing with a live band scares many people because it tends to be such a large focal point for the singer
5. Sometimes the hosts can be assholes to bad singers so it has to scare some people off.
But I'll always prefer LBK because it's much more fun and a real band always sounds better than the shitty background music used on karaoke discs.
