The following is videotaped footage at the UCLA Library, taking November 15th and uploaded to YouTube. It shows...well, take a look, as the cops prove that just because you're an LA cop doesn't mean you can't be sickening.
And here's the acompanying
UCLA Daily Bruin article.
Okay, so. I know there's people out there who will say "Oh, it was just a taser, if he'd stood up, it'd have all been fine."
Bullshit.
Lemme make a couple things clear, in case you missed it in the article or in the video.
1) The student very, VERY clearly states in the beginning that he has a medical condition. Medical conditions, depending, can turn tasing fatal. Not only do the officers not ask, they completely ignore it.
2) Check THIS statement out:
"Laila Gordy, a fourth-year economics student who was present in the library during the incident, said police officers threatened to shoot her with a Taser when she asked an officer for his name and his badge number."
Abuse of power? Noooo, not at ALL!
3) There is no such thing as "just a taser." After you've been hit by a taser, you're in EXTREME pain. Your body has just seized up, and you are in agony. And this is before you factor in the previously-mentioned medical condtion. He was likely in too much pain to pop right up like the cops were ordering before they hit him again with it. Several times.
I hope to Christ you're as sickened as I am. Because this shit is just wrong...but it's the culture that our cops are being raised in, where they're allowed and even encouraged to do things like this.
SERIOUSLY fucked up.
