Dude, I'm so behind on everything

Jul 26, 2008 12:15

I haven't even posted what happened at Polaris 22 yet, because it will involve a LOT of picture uploading and endless talking. i'm not up for that right now.
What I AM up for is posting the mostly done (but for dynamics, but I can't get those to work) soundtrack I wrote for the Doctor Who fanscript my friends mostly wrote. I dunno if they'll ever finish it, let alone post it, but my soundtrack IS quite spoilery for it.

Basically, the script is about Martha's first Halloween. Only, her and the Doctor accidentally bring a bunch of horrible aliens called Skellians into that time and they start enslaving children, including herself and her siblings.
The bit my song is from is when they've gone to the Skellian's headquarters. This is the dialogue from it, written by
qahtte and Katie who doesn't have LJ as far as I know. BTW, Hilary, if you read this and want me to take it down, by all means. Seriously.

The Doctor pulls out his sonic screwdriver, and goes over to the lock on the door.

DOCTOR (cont)

Remember, even when I let them out, you can’t-

As soon as the Doctor turns on the screwdriver, loud alarms start going off, and lights flash on the ceiling.

MARTHA

What-

DOCTOR

No! No, no-

The sound of stomping feet can be heard. A troupe of Skellians march down the hall, and enter the room. They spot Martha first, and grab her.

SKELLIAN GUARD

Intruders! A Human!

MARTHA

(struggling)

Get off me! Let go!

SKELLIAN GUARD

(Spotting the Doctor)

And what’s this? The Last Time Lord in the universe aboard our ship once more. What an honour...

The Doctor lunges forward but is caught by two more guards. He struggles to take out his sonic screwdriver, but is attacked. In the confusion, the Doctor drops his sonic screwdriver, and it falls to the floor, just outside one of  the cages. The Skellians do not take notice, but the Doctor stares helplessly at it, held by the guards.

SKELLIAN GUARD

(Laughing)

And I thought we would need backup. Lock them both up with the rest of the slaves. There is not telling what powers we can harness from the Gallifreyan.

DOCTOR

You’re going to regret this! I want to give you a choice, a choice! Would you prefer to build your own world than sap other civilizations like some pathetic leech? Don’t you want to evolve?

SKELLIAN GUARD

SILENCE! LOCK HIM!

The Skellians push them into one of the empty cells, and lock the door.

Martha sits in the cell, after the Skellians have left. The Doctor paces around the small area, muttering to himself.

DOCTOR

Of course! I should’ve realized. All that technology, all those planets they’ve destroyed. One of them MUST have had sonic-sensing alarms. And when you’re a race that takes prisoners from every planet you meet, you’d want your PRISON CELLS to be protected against everything! Stupid, stupid, stupid…

Martha turns away from him. Looking into the next cage, she sees Young Martha. They make eye contact.

YOUNG MARTHA

(quietly)

Who are you?

MARTHA

I’m… well… I’m just a friend, okay?

YOUNG MARTHA

Oh. You look kind of like my mum.

Martha, having no response, stays silent and looks away from the younger version of herself.

DOCTOR (cont)

(off)

And if I could just get it back, I’d be able to get us out! No point putting those protections on the inside, after all, I mean, once a prisoner’s in the cell, they’re caught already, if only I had something I could hook it with, some way to reach it…

As the Doctor talks, Young Martha goes over to the bars. Her arm is small enough that she can reach through. She grabs the sonic screwdriver, then passes it through the bars to Martha, who carefully takes it, making sure not to touch her.

DOCTOR

This should be so simple, this should be so easy, this should-

MARTHA

Doctor?

Martha passes him the sonic screwdriver as Young Martha looks on through the bars.

DOCTOR

Oh, Martha Jones. You are brilliant. Both of you. Now let’s get out of here.

He points the sonic screwdriver at the inside of the lock, and opens it. He and Martha hurry out into the corridor.

DOCTOR (cont)

Now, first order of business, back to the TARDIS-

MARTHA

What?! You’re going to just leave me, - them, here? What about Tish and Leo and all the rest? We can’t just leave them here! You said yourself, they’re dangerous--

DOCTOR

We don’t have a choice, Martha. I’m sorry, there’s nothing I can do. We just have to get out of here before--

Footsteps can be heard from down in the prison block. A SKELLIAN GUARD comes around the corner.

YOUNG MARTHA

They’re coming back!

The Doctor and Martha turn and see the GUARD.

GUARD

Silence slave!

He pulls out his laser blaster.

DOCTOR

Run!

The Skellian Guards turns on them, and the Doctor grabs Martha’s hand. They run for the door the out into the hall.

YOUNG MARTHA

Don’t you hurt them!

The guard raises his blaster, and fires. However, he is shooting at Young Martha. She screams, and is cut short.

Martha, just out side the prison-room’s door, stops short at the sound of the blaster and looks back to see Young Martha, who has fallen, and is lying motionless on the bottom of the cage. Young Leo and Young Tish are by her, frantically trying to wake her. The Doctor stops and glances frantically at Martha, who gives him one last frightened look before she dissolves into a dusty mist.

DOCTOR

(clearly horrified)

MARTHA! NO!

Just feet ahead of The Skellian Guard looks up though Martha’s dust at the Doctor and smiles. He raises his blaster again. The Doctor turns, and runs away down the hall, dodging the beam.

INT. TARDIS

He reaches the storage room where they left the TARDIS, opens the door, and heads straight into the TARDIS. Slamming the door behind him, he immediately slumps down on the floor against it.

DOCTOR (cont)

Martha…
