A Scanner Darkly

Usually when I see a limited release, I turn and run in the opposite direction. Only one in a hundred or so are actually interesting and worth seeing, and this movie would be that single movie.

The artistic design of this movie was surprisingly not distracting. What they did was shoot the film (I assume) then inked over it so it looks like a cartoon. It works though, creating this sense of choatic reality. Speaking of which, I've watched this movie twice, the second time I watched it baked. Give it a try, you'll have some fun.

Also the acting isn't half as bad as I thought it would be. You hear Keanu Reeves and Winons Ryder and instantly think crapfest, but not this time. It all works out perfectly.

The story is... uh... good, despite being hard to follow at times. Regardless, this movie was great as long as you kinda keep it together while you're watching it. It's not as mindless as "Little Man", not even close.

Story: 8/10
Acting: 8/10
Artistic Design: 8.5/10
Overall: 8/10
