Tomorrow, May 30th, we are going on our first family vacation!!!!!!!!!...These words can't convey the euphoria my bipolar wants to speak of in telling you. But trust me, I'm out there baby!
We're going to Virginia and visit Monticello, Washington DC, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, etc... The kid isn't looking forward to it because she says she didn't have a say in it. Too bad...my house my rules. Sucks to be her! What I know and she doesn't right now is how much fun she is going to have. I make fun possible when she doesn't think it can be. Case in point...Memorial Day weekend, we have here our annual feastival here as in many places called Riverfest. I had bought the tickets, but due to scheduling, couldn't make it there until the last day. Sunny and warm weather Friday and Saturday, but due to rain off and on all day Sunday. So after church Sunday I took her down there after I got a nap in Sunday afternoon. It cleared up with the rain a bit and hauled this disgruntled 13 year old down to the rivermarket area.
It started to rain pretty good after about our first 30 minutes there. We walked up and down sampling this and that food vendors and then it began to rain harder. She kept complaining there was nothing to do because of the rain...Poor baby...It was just her and I and she wasn't happy...tsk tsk tsk. We listened to some singers for a bit during the rain in our ponchos we picked up at the last minute and then continued with our exploring the little shopping booths. It began to downpour. She was getting miffed and began to tell me she wanted to leave. Well since my garbage bag like poncho was ripping, I decided it was worthless with keeping the rain off and began to rip it off. She giggled at how her mom was getting totally drenched and continued on in front of me. Well, I didn't particually liked her laughing at me and began to chase her down in front of passerby's and get her poncho ripped off of her. When I caught up to her, RIPPPP and she began to laugh. The game was on then...Back and forth we ran with me chasing her. My fat ass in white shirt and blue jean shorts bouncing through puddles and wet grassy hills. She would look back ever so often to see where I was in catching up with her.....(way back). She was getting drenched and I was completely soaked. So back and forth this went on for a couple of hours until it was getting late.
I told her to ride in the bed of the truck due to how soaked we were and she was just cheezing over it. For someone who was complaining for the longest time as to how much she was miserable being there in the beginning, she ended up telling me how much fun she had in the rain....with her mom.....
It was being bipolar and loving her that made her have fun....
soooooooooooooo
I have to do something like that in order for her to relax and enjoy herself on vacation....Do they allow bipolar peeps to act crazy in Washington DC? Nevermind...I forgot....congress....Monte is getting everything in order today while I am at work. We leave first thing tomorrow morning....2 whole weeks we'll be gone.....I'll post pics as I can....
