The Last Audiobook of Stonewall Jackson

I have always aspired to do an audiobook. I listen to them a lot, and I love to read aloud, so I thought it would be fun to do one sometime. Yesterday, I got a little taste of what it would be like.

I made arrangements with some friends over at WESB in Bradford to use their production studio to record chapter one of The Last Days of Stonewall Jackson as an audiobook excerpt. I thought it'd make a good promotional treat, and it's a book that would lend itself to a good audio interpretation.

After recording and editing, I bundled it up as an MP3 and sent it off to Sarah, the marketing director at Savas Beatie. She had the chance this afternoon to listen to it. Her response:

This is WONDERFUL! I love it. And, both "Savas" and "Beatie" are pronounced correctly, which is hard to do.

I can't think of anything to change. How soon do you think you'll have the final ready? If it won't be too far off, we might as well wait until the final is done before posting this on the website.

Again, it's great. Anytime you can do these for your books, we'll put them to good use.
