My clothes wear large on me. Need to pay closer attention to that so I don't run around looking baggy and frumpy.
On Wednesday, I weighed in at 204.4. Yesterday, I weighed in at 204.4. Today, I again weighed in at 204.4.
I blame the chunk of lasagna I had at Heidi's Wednesday night. It was the first real, substantial thing I'd eaten all week, and my body apparently did not want to give it up. It's been trying to sap every last bit of caloric energy from it that it can, I guess. Beyond that, I had 160 calories of low-fat yogurt, and that's it. Yes, it's starvation (but honestly, I've not felt hungry).
What baffles me about the plateau, though, is that I have boosted my workout every day this week, making it up to 400 calories on the elliptical and adding a little bit to my lifting routine. On Wednesday, I also did an hour of yoga.
Stymied by the plateau, I downed a spinach-laden six-inch veggie sub from Subway as a late lunch in the hope of kick-starting my metabolism a little, then went back to the gym tonight for a second round of workout to try and kick my own ass a little. I mixed it up from the usual by doing 100 calories on the rowing machine (only ten minutes, but it felt good), plus another 150 on the elliptical. I threw in just a couple reps on the weight machines for my arms, too.
After, I weighed an even 204. I'm sure the loss of .4 pounds is just part of the daily ebb and flow of my body, but it was an important psychological victory for me to see it on the scale.
The gym is closed for the next few days for midterm break, so I'll have to weigh-in at home, which won't be exact, but it'll keep me honest. I'm dying to eat something "fun" (Chinese would be good!), but I won't treat myself until I hit that 200-mark.
