My entry is a Clex mix. ^^ Whenever I make a Clex mix CD for myself to play in the car, I always have the hardest time picking out just a couple from each artist and deciding which ones to use because only so many will fit. Well, sometimes, I just don't want to make that choice. So here is a fanmix made up only of Blackmore's Night songs, all with various Clex references. I put them on the album in order of how Clexy they are for me, though in different ways. I've got notes on each of the songs for how I think of them. Enjoy. :)
Blackmore's Clex - the lite version
The ZIP file is made up of .wma's of 12 of the songs, 3 from each of the 4 albums used. (Note - this post is the "lite" version of the mix, composed of only those 12 songs that are downloadable. There's a more complete version of the mix with all 21 songs I consider to be Blackmore Clex over
on my ficjournal only without the download for all of them.)

http://www.blackmoresnight.com 1. Written in the Stars
Notes: This one is Clex like no other. Future fic, angst, possible hope... It's sad because of the fate of the comic Clex, a future set in stone. And yet... we determine our own fates, and maybe the Smallville fate is not the comic. A candle in the night, guiding the way back home.
Once written in the stars
A pathway set in stone
A candle in the night
To guide your way back home
Then somewhere in your memory ... Calling from afar ...
It's daring you to see what it is that's written in the stars…
2. I Still Remember
Notes: Another angsty Clex that just tugs at the heartstrings for a romance so bright and now forgotten. Future fic. And yet so intense... there must be *some* hope in there too.
I thought of you the other day
How worlds of change led us astray
Colors seem to fade to gray
In the wake of yesterday…
You looked into my eyes
You had me hypnotized
And I can still remember you
3. Writing on the Wall
Notes: Oh man, OUCH. This is a very hurty angsty song for future fic after the rift. Could be from either point of view looking back on how the other hurt them. I usually see it as Lex's pov after he's discovered Clark's lies.
Now I see the writing on the wall...
Paranoia or perception?
Put your faith in a liar's hands
Wanting to believe his words
But never knowing where he stands...
There's too many misconceptions
In this game of consequence
When you're finding that your hero
Is just who you're up against...
4. Waiting Just for You
Notes: Let's go for a happier one here. ^^ This one is pure romance and it's got the hope in it that the previous one lacked. Times might be rough, there might be hard patches, but Clex will carry through because they love each other.
They say that it's always darkest right before the dawn
They say that I must be strong just to carry on
But they don't know that I would wait my whole lifetime through
Because you know, my love, that I'd be waiting just for you…
There you stood, amazing shining for the whole world to see
And I knew an angel had been sent to watch over me…
So I'll be here waiting, hoping, dreaming, loving you
Because I know, my love, that you do love me too...
5. Where Are We Going From Here
Notes: This is a song about the crossroads. At a point, Clex can turn to a bright future or to a dark one. Here are the possibilities, and we're searching for home.
On a long road, miles to go
Its winding and cold and its covered with snow
But I ask you what we all want to know
Where are we going from here...
Lines on my face, lines on my hands
Lead to a future I don't understand
Some things don't go as they're planned...
Where are we going from here...
6. Diamonds and Rust
Notes: AU Future Fic, with angst and rift. Hearing a voice and remembering bittersweet memories. We both know what memories can bring; They bring diamonds and rust.
Well I'll be damned
Here comes your ghost again
But that's not unusual
It's just that the moon is full
And you happened to call
And here I sit
Hand on the telephone
Hearing a voice I'd known
A couple of light years ago
Heading straight for a fall
7. Morning Star
Notes: An early song for brightness and hope and the reaching to go out and *try* and *do*. They will catch that Morning Star yet!
And time and space
Our only shield
Keeping secrets
Unrevealed
Falling night
Breathes in the dark
Trying to catch the morning star...
8. The Circle
Notes: Future Fic with both angst and hope. As the comic story ever starts and ever reinvents itself, one continuous circle of life, beginnings and endings always on... and yet, there is room to learn and perhaps to leave the circle and start something anew.
Now the question falls to you, my friend
No beginning has no end
Will we ever learn will the world still turn will the circle start again?
9. Peasant's Promise
Notes: This one is only Clexy in a few lines, but those few lines... I see this as an early innocent Clark song with Lex falling for him and there is hope for Clark is so *good*, yet there is sadness for knowing that after the love comes the leaving. Yet... he might return.
Wishes can come true when you wish with all your might...
One look in his eyes
I had realized
His life was so simple he had no disguise
He lived day to day
No promise he would stay
But in these few words he stole my heart away…
10. Locked within the Crystal Ball
Notes: Possibilities abide within this song. So strong, so full of imagery and adventure and Clex will be there as they both strive and try and reach out to be one with each other and the stars.
Fire and water, earth and sky
Mysteries surround us
Legends never die
They live for the moment, lost in time
I can hear them call
They're locked within the crystal ball…
11. Under a Violet Moon
Notes: Good cheer and remembrance! This is the drinking song where we raise our glasses and toast to the early Clex and remember it with affection and fun. No sadness here, just a time for going back and enjoying life and the Clex.
Raise your hats and your glasses too
We will dance the whole night through
We're going back to a time we knew
Under a Violet Moon
12. Ivory Tower
Notes: Lex in his tower, alone, waiting for his hero. Lex on the island, Lex in the asylum. He's alone and cold and trapped... and yet he dreams of Clark still.
I followed fortune 'round the tower
Searching in vain
For through the mist 'round the old stone tower I only found rain
And though the cold, cold Ivory Tower was stony through and through
I laid and dreamed on a featherbed, my dream was of you
My dream was of you...
