So on the Friday in between Christmas and New Years, T1 and I made a rare trip out to the bars (for a Friday) and ended up having one of the most enjoyable times in recent memory at the bar.
We primarily sat in the red lounge all night and ‘held court’ as acquaintances came by and spent some time with us. At one point one of the said acquaintances brought a guy to our table who was a ‘little lost’ because he didn’t know anyone and asked if he could hang out with us. This guy, named Alex, proceeded to talk pretty much non-stop but was surprisingly interesting. We exchanged numbers and went our separate ways at bar close. I received a txt message from him about 30 minutes later saying how much he enjoyed meeting me, etc. (Warning sign #1 - what happened to the 3 day rule
)
After a few weeks of seeing him at the bar and him hanging around me and my group of friends, we discussed hanging out outside of the bar. Tuesday after several text messages we decided to meet at Mall of America for a “Late Lunch” (Warning #2 - I should have suspected when meeting at a mall for a date would feel so, ahh Junior High)
He arrived a few minutes late but had texted to tell me he would be (Good Points) and we proceed to have lunch and chat. In this, he has continued his gift of gab and spent much of the time ‘convincing’ me how popular he is and how many friends he has. (Warning #3 - he must have forgotten how and why we met, he wanted to hang out at the bar because he didn’t know anyone).
So we head over to check out what’s playing at the movies and he of course does not like anything playing and suggests we walk around the mall (Warning #4 - Oh goody always wanted to walk around the mall on a date)
Around five I say “I should be going now” and we part.
Saturday is the normal day we see each other out at the bar which usually begun with txt messages asking if I am going out, since none came this day I thought perhaps I was relived of my obligations. Within 10 minutes of arriving Alex finds me and says “All of my other friends ditched me tonight, I am glad you didn’t ditch me too” OY, so he pretty much hangs on me all night, leaving my side only to smoke and use the bathroom, of which he makes sure he tells me every time where he will be.
Ironically he was enjoyable again, perhaps it’s the alcohol that makes him tolerable, just not sure if it’s the alcohol in him or me that does it.
So we will probably just be leaving him at the bar from now on.
