My pride this year was unique, well at least compared to previous years. It kind of began on Monday with a reading and talk by one of my favorite authors
Armistead Maupin with WD and Patrick, two people I have (hopefully) turned on to Armistead writings - well WD did have a little head start as he had seen portions of the mini-series from the Tales of Cities books. After the reading, Patrick left and WD and I went to eat at
Psycho Suzi’s quite pleased with this evening and the conversations that ensured, WD even demonstrated his singing abilities.
The rest of the week was insainly busy with working both jobs and having the staff in from our Colorado office, that coupled with going out to the bars each night starting with Thursday.
On Saturday WD called to see if I still wanted to go see the movie
Chris & Don - A love story a touching portrail of the relationship between Christopher Isherwood and his 30 year junior partner Don Bachardy, I cried a little in refecting just how much love these two men shared.
After the movie WD and I walked around the festival and then to our respective homes to nap. I called WD about 9 to go to K1 cocktail party, he was still sleepy and not in the mindset to go out. About 12:30am he texted me that he just woke up, I was in the process of changing locations, so I swung by and picked him up to go to the Bolt/Eagle. We ended the night at Little Tijauanaa’s for cheap mexican food and wonderful conversation.
Sunday was parade, park and Block party featuring
Lady Bunny and
Taylor Dayne, who was at the festival last year however was so drunk could not even remember her own lyrics. This year however she did much better.
Both Saturday and Sunday were peppered with me working on a huge presentation for work, but I still managed to make the most of my time.
