hey boosters... im poor

Well i just finished writing a letter to the band boosters asking for money so i can do drum and bugle corps next summer... read it and tell me what you think.

Dear Band Boosters,
This Thanksgiving break, I will, hopefully, be traveling to Toledo Ohio to audition for the 2003 Summer Season of the Toledo Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps. I am very excited for this opportunity. If I make the 2003 Corps, I will be traveling all over the United States competing for the entire summer. This is a once in a lifetime chance. A chance that is in jeopardy for me.
My father is being treated for an un-known disease that has caused him to go on medical retirement. This has cause and emotional and financial drain on my family. With two, soon to be three children in college, and all of the other finances a family has to deal with, money is very tight.
Drum and Bugle Corps, as exciting as it is, is not free. The season is going to cost me approximately $1,200 dollars. That’s $1,200 I cannot afford. I would hate to let an opportunity like this pass me up because of monetary reasons. That’s why I am writing you this letter. I am asking for financial assistance to attend Glassmen’s 2003 Drum Corps Season. I am asking now, before the audition camp, because the camp also costs money. I can’t afford to attend, if I am not sure if I will be able to pay for the 2003 season if I make it.
Now I am not just asking you to hand me the money. I am more than willing to do anything I can to offset some of the cost. I will participating in all fund raisers and help out with anything I can. If I participate in the 2003 Corps, I will be more than willing to come back and share what I have learned with the 2003 Big Reds Marching Band. I would love to be a significant part of the 2003 Big Reds Marching Bands successful season, and watch them in the Silverdome thinking, “I was a part of making that happen.”
This year the band was so close to states in my eyes, I’d love to come back and help them get there next year. And with all the training I would receive in Drum Corps, I would be much more of help.

Thank You,

Kyle Hadley
