For you, I find that you remind me a great deal of Eric Lecarde, but more specifically, his role as "Wind" in Portrait of Ruin. I find that version of him more aptly fits your more shy, cynical and eccentric nature. He never struck me as particularly outspoken fellow, but despite that, he's got this sense of wisdom that I also get from you. He's had his bouts of arrogance, but he can also be humble. When you mentioned being extremely hard to get close to but that you love your family, it reminded me a lot of Eric's disposition in the Portrait of Ruin. He spent a lot of time putting up distance and hiding the fact that Stella and Loretta were his daughters and that he still very much missed, cared and worried for them. It was in those very same scenes that we see his more pessimistic viewpoints. I could see him having very similar viewpoints on humanity, because his perspectives seem to come from grounded and factual observation. Although he does many things on his own, I see him as more of a follower than some of the other characters.
You also mentioned being straightfoward - something I find Eric to be more often than not. Although you are probably more neutral and much less religious than he is, I still see him throughout the bulk of your application. To boot, you said if you ever had to be an undead thing, you would be a ghost - that vampires were among the last things you'd want to be.

All in all, I'd say he's a pretty good fit.
