So if you notice he's quieter than usual, it's because he has sniffles and a headache and he blames you, yes, you, every one of you, because you're all dirty commoners and things haven't really been going his way recently, but he doesn't have the energy to do anything about it.
He'll get you back, though. Perhaps by reinfecting you, which may be why he's settled his sick self in the student lounge. Or perhaps by some more ingenious method that he just can't think of right now.
You might want to ignore him, because he'll take any excuse to complain and he's watching for you. Especially if you're a frog (do aliens catch colds?) or a ghost (he feels cheated that he hasn't seen one yet).
