Halfway through May? Really?
Rain, rain, rain. I wonder what May showers bring? It wouldn't be spring, by any chance? Seriously, after spending most of the winter below zero, we haven't had nearly enough days of warm, sunny days to make up for it.
We've had one consistently great weekend in Iowa in 2009, so far. After living in my apartment for six months, I finally started putting things on the walls. I began shifting through all of the crap that I've thrown on my kitchen table, and determined to start staying on top of my dishes. Things were dusted, the carpet was vacuumed, and my shelves of action figures were set up.
Then the weather turned shitty again, and like Iowa DOT workers, I left my projects in media res.
After today's thunderstorms, it's supposed to be sunny most of the weekend, but it also doesn't look like we'll get out of the lower 60s. Add the inevitable wind on top of that, and opening the windows won't seem very inviting. And I desperately need the fresh air.
