today is one of those rare mornings when i have been able to wake up ridiculously early despite going to bed incredibly late. i think there's too much on my mind for my body to settle down enough to rest. on today's schedule: finish inventory of the camp store; do some final financial paperwork; move all my stuff back home; clean my car; get oil changed on said car; buy shoes for a wedding; go to a family party; possibly go to a second dress fitting; pack for canada; get the internationals checked into a hotel for the night. i'm excited, but dazed from all the changes. but tomorrow a group of us are going on an end-of-summer camping trip to canada though, so yay!
it's been a memorable and absolutely unique summer. with the exception of this week, i'll have good memories of this camp and the people here. i doubt i'll ever have another job that requires me to repel down giant rock formations in the dark or splash around a pool full of 7 year olds before breakfast. it has been a grueling summer though and i'm ready to get back to a more regulated schedule. just about everyone moved out yesterday so camp is actually quiet for once. aside from a few scattered trainers still wandering around, jacque and i are the only ones left here. it doesn't feel like another empty weekend though because no one is coming back.
the next two weeks of my life will consist of moving into an apartment, being in a wedding (argh! ah! i don't know about this!), finding a job, and once again starting to draw up the ever-changing plan for the rest of my life. fall looks like a lot of randomness with plenty of east coast travel to visit friends if i can get a job with a flexible enough schedule.
this is the part where i make you laugh - last night i went to a princess birthday party for a 23 year old. and yes, i wore a tiara for a whole 3 hours. we gave dani, one of the british counselors, a disney princess themed party. i empathized with how bittersweet it is to have a birthday when you're far away from family and home. for the most part she seemed to be having the great time though.
okay, well, i'm off to count t-shirts and listen to sunday morning NPR. it won't be so bad.
