Ever since Annie showed me how to do cuts, I just can't help them!

I finally have had the first day of all of my classes, and have something of an opinion on them, so what could be better than to do an evaluation of them?

8:00 AM Monday--Chem Lab
Last semester my TA was a really scary lady who made us wear lab goggles from the moment we stepped into the lab until the moment we left. This semester my TA is a young guy who was not wearing lab goggles, but a "Miller Highlife" baseball cap. He looks like the guy from Get Fuzzy. Last semester, my lab partner was rather mean and bitchy. This semester, my lab partner is really friendly. Last semester, the class was completely full and nearly all girls. This semester, there are 12 people. Nine of them are guys. Just watch this semester suck more than last semester.

11:15 AM MWF--Music Appreciation
This class would be great if the professor wasn't annoying and if the reading assignments were more specific and if we actually listened to music. The lectures are really interesting, but the reading is tedious. I'm contemplating dropping this class as it is more time-consuming than it is worth. The problem is, my schedule isn't going to get any easier and this class fills a core requirement, so we'll see.

1:25 PM MWF--Multivariable Calc
I think my professor is afraid of the class. He spends a minimum of five minutes at the beginning of each class ensuring that the overhead projector is perfectly aligned. Maybe he's into feng shui or something. However, he wears sandals and socks every day, even if it snowed, so that puts him high in my book. So far the subject matter is just vector review, but I think I'll like it even when it gets hard. Oh yeah, the class is about 80% male.

2:30 PM MW--Chem Lecture
I have the same professor as last semester because he's just hilarious. For the demos, he'll throw random dangerous chemicals together and then make them explode. Homework is mandatory this semester so I think maybe I'll get a higher grade.

8:00 AM TR--Enviro Law
The only problem I have with this class is that every day the professor gets little flecks of spit in the corners of his mouth and it grosses me out. Everything else rocks my socks, even the book, which is actually for grad students. I think it's ironic that I'm not supposed to be in this class (because I'm a freshman) but it is fast becoming my favorite class.

9:05 AM Wednesday--Engineering Lecture
I think this class is going to be tedious and boring, but my professor's name is Jenny Lo, so we're allowed to call her Dr. J-Lo. I bet you never expected to hear THAT in your lifetime. She's really cool though, so I think the class will work out. This is another 80% male class. Go figure.

3:00 PM Thursday--Chem Recitation
This is so pointless. The TA is cute but he has no idea what he's doing and his voice annoys me. If attendance wasn't mandatory I'd say "fuck this" and take a nap. Last class I spent the period drawing a Napoleon Dynamite-esque rendition of a "Gebra." It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's a cross between a giraffe and a zebra, bred for its skills in magic.

9:00 AM Friday--Engineering Workshop
The TA for this class is really cool too. It's really ironic how both of my engineering teachers are female, but the classes are definitely male. Case in point, there are two girls in this class (out of 30 people). Anyway, I like this class before because it's a lot of hands-on stuff, like building towers out of straws. Even though it pisses me off that we wasted all those straws and all that paper that wrapped them. I bet they stole the straws from the dining centers, though I don't know why they just didn't go to target and get a box of 500 for like $0.99, because those aren't wrapped and maybe they could save some paper.

By 4:00PM Friday--Linear Algebra
Empo class. 'Nuf said.

It's still only 9:30 AM, so I think I'll do some reading because I'm afraid if I fall asleep, I'll sleep through Music Appr.
