Eleventh Tentacle

[Early morning on the first day of THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, Daniel heads outside to check the mail. Not that he ever gets anything interesting normally, but he's been trying to introduce more structure to his life. Structure is calming, right ( Read more... )

If ninety-five percent certainty counts, then yes.

[Estonia's leaning against the kitchen counter with a notebook and pencil, a rifle from a few events ago leaning beside him.] The only point of entry I'm really unsure about is the picture window in the living room, and even then, it's only if the zombies adapt enough to the situation to start chucking each other at the window. [Token glasses adjustment.] Even then, it's fairly defensible, though once they've breached, we're a little bit screwed.

Ninety-five is probably the best we've got. Um. Maybe... we could put something in front of the window? Bar it up with... something.

[A chair wouldn't really work, would it, but if they stacked enough furniture...]

I guess we just h-have to keep watch on the weak points. Between the two of us and Raquel, it should be fairly easy? We only have to watch the first floor.

Unless they can climb that tree along the side of the house.

And, hmm... [He'll take his notebook, pen stuck behind his ear as she goes to eye the living room from the entrance to the kitchen.] Any suggestions on it? I'd rather keep it something easily dismountable, just in case.

[Daniel visibly deflates.]

Oh, right. The tree. Um. Maybe they'll just... not think to try it. They don't seem too bright?

And I guess. I guess we could stack furniture...?

[Now he feels stupid. Estonia is so much better-prepared than he is. And Estonia doesn't have to drug himself up to stay relatively calm. That's just all Estonia.

So jelly.]

Stacking furniture sounds good. [He'll spend a moment analysing before they can start moving anything.]

And we could always take that little fence that's around the flower garden out front and stick it around the tree as a precaution. Or cut that limb that reaches to that window down, though forestry during an apocalypse is sort of laughable.

Cutting the tree would probably be easier, since moving the fence means going outside and I don't think th-they're going to just leave us alone once they know we're only doing some landscaping...

You want to spot me while I hang out the window to do it, then?
