I finally got the internet going at my house so now I am back in the pink like a regular member of society. I haven't really had a lot of time to sit down and go through all my usual sites and email peeps and all that shit yet, but I suppose all in due time.

I got my car back today. Its all fixed and replaced and painted so I guess thats a relief. It wound up costing me money (which I dont really have to spare) but thats life, at least its fixed.

I had another interview yesterday. Nothing really excited or to die for, but I guess its good to be getting offers at least. For the job I interviewed for yesterday I wont have an official offer as far as wages and hours go until next week, so I guess that gives me more time to keep looking and in the event that I dont find anything, I could always use this one as a fall back. Any paycheck is better than no paycheck after a while. But I sent out 5 more resumes today  and 4 yesterday, and I got one more to send out tomorrow, plus I have an interview this Saturday, so I am not worrying yet. I still have options and opportunities. Besides all of that, Ive only been here a week and a half, so no need to panic just yet.

Thats really all that is on my mind at the moment unfortunately, settling in (which is going fine) the car business (which is finally over) and the job hunt. Boring I know, especially for a city that really is exciting and has a ton of shit to offer.

Actually, I went to my first real show as an Austinite. On Tuesday April and I went to Emo's to see a local Austin band that is getting kind of well known and I predict will get much bigger called The Sword. Dale The Professor Kellet is actually the first person to tell me about them, and upon his recco I checked them out and dug them instantly. Their lyrics are very nerdy being about swords and ships and battles and viking type shit (no dragons though) but it doesnt matter because the music is so headbang friendly. Very sludgy and slow and throwback. Id easily say that if Black Sabbath formed in 2005 they would sound like the Sword. The show was the shit and my ears were ringing like mad afterwards - job well done.

I Love Video (or I "heart" Video) is a local Austin video store thing here that many peeps talk about. Well I knew early on that it was going to be my thing, but today I actually went and signed up and browsed around. Holy fuck. If ever a store was designed specifically with me in mind it is the I Love Video on Guadalupe.  From one section being divided by directors, to the "80's movie section" to the "Zombie" section , I was tasting a thin slice of heaven. Seriously, they have a Zombie section. And as if it could get any better I stumbled into a section titled "Euro Trash" which was a ton of European campy horror films - many of which Ive seen and love thank you very much. Ill cut this tirade short and just say, the store is badass and they will waive your membership fee if you give them a blockbuster of hollywood video card to cut up. Seriously. Good shit. It makes me feel happy to be home, new home that is. It may sound gay but its really a nice feeling knowing there are good comic shops, record stores, and video rental houses locally. Perhaps Ill actually start to shop again like a real human being and not buy everything via the internet. The bigger beauty of it all is that all of these places I am thinking of are all locally owned and operated, thats a nice feeling.

All in all things are going swell. I do hate looking for jobs though.

Stay up.
