And Kurt -- he brings confirmation that Bastion is the one behind everything. He does this by way of having Bastion's arm embedded in his chest. Dying words are not always coherent, but he has had practice.
Elixir does his best to get there in time.
But it's when the blackbird hangar is destroyed in an explosion that all the chickens start coming home to roost. Killing Pierce will not make them one bit less trapped.
And then the strange red dome snaps closed over San Francisco.
Spread thin, cut off, trapped -- and now the X-men have an entire city of civilians to protect.
It's time to go back to the drawing board.
