Character Name: Amber "Cutthroat Bitch" Volakis
Race: Human (but without a soul)
History: Amber's childhood was uneventful. Her high school years were full of academics and clubs. It was in the halls of high school that she learned how important it was to be the best. No one would remember you if you didn't stand out, and unlike most of the kids she went to school with, she would be remembered.
Amber graduated at the top of her class in medical school, but she wanted something more. That's why she joined 40 other applicants in a quest to join House's team. Amber used trickery to maintain her spot, convincing others to quit, cheating (as far as would be allowed). In the end, she was rejected. But she did win a consolation prize, Wilson's heart.
Though it may be difficult to believe, Amber really did love Wilson. She wanted him to be happy with her, to do what he felt was right, not what she told him to do as his other love interests had done. She often found herself at war with House for Wilson's affections, and House played just as dirty as she did, which left Wilson in the middle. That fateful day when she picked up a drunken House at the bar, she got on the bus with him and then a screech of metal and the odd sensation of being airborne. Lying in a hospital bed on the verge of death, Amber asked for one more chance to live.
Her request was granted. She found herself standing at a crossroads with a demon who introduced himself as Blair. He said that he would extend her life for the cost of her soul. Amber had never really given much thought to her soul and didn't truly believe she needed it. It was only after she agreed and the deal was sealed with a kiss that he told her she was only given ten more years. When she returned to her body, she would find that several months had passed and the countdown started. But she is back, and that is all she cares about now.
