PERSONALITYA good way of describing Akabane is to say that he’s a bit of a ‘wild card’. He does what he wants, when he wants, and follows no rules other than his own.
To someone who has only just met him, Akabane may come off as somewhat of a creepy fellow, but is otherwise a civilized gentleman who is extremely professional and takes great pride in his work. This may be partially true, but only just scrapes the surface. Those who work with him or have lived to encounter him multiple times know that Akabane is just about as creepy as a person could possibly get. He has very few morals and lives only for fun. That being said, his definition of fun mainly includes finding opponents who are strong enough for him to take seriously before killing them off slowly and painfully. That is why he chose his occupation as a Transporter in the first place; it guaranteed that he would come across a worthy opponent eventually. In the meantime, he would satisfy his twisted need for fun by butchering anyone who got in his way, no matter how weak.
If he happens to find something or someone that catches his interest and lives past the first encounter, Akabane will constantly be going after that thing or person to satisfy himself. This doesn’t mean he’ll actively hunt down the person for the rest of eternity, but if the opportunity presents itself and he isn’t doing something of greater importance (like a job), then you bet your ass he’ll be right there to engage that person in battle. If something threatens to take that source of fun away from him, Akabane will end it, no questions asked. He’s even killed his own employers for daring to commit such an act.
That being said, Akabane does have his own set of morals that he lives by, albeit a very limited list. Although he has gone after them in the past, he won’t kill children if there is a way to disable them without bloodshed. Also, if a job calls for it, he will work next to his enemies as a professional (although he’ll usually stab them in the back after his part of the assignment is complete). He has also been known to save people from danger, usually women who are unable to defend themselves.
One part of Akabane’s creepiness stems from the fact that he is always smiling. Well, almost always. The only way to get him to change his expression is to thoroughly piss him off or get him serious, usually if someone either A. takes away his fun, B. is extremely boring, or C. forces him to go serious. The third option will cause Akabane to take the fight seriously as well, but only for about 5 seconds before he starts up his creeper smile again.
ABILITIES
- He has 108 titanium scalpels located throughout the inside of his body that he can call out at any time.
- He can form weapons out of his own blood, as he does with his Bloody Sword and Bloody Cross. These do more damage than the regular scalpels, but also take more effort for him to use.
- He has strength and speed that surpasses pretty much everyone else in his series. These will be toned down to being above average rather than god-like.
- Due to his age and years spent fighting people, he is very clever and experienced in the battlefield.
- Bloody Rain: He shoots all his scalpels up into the air, when then rain down on his opponent.
- Bloody Stream: All scalpels form a 'stream' that winds through the air before locking onto and rushing at the opponent.
- Bloody Sword: A sword made out of Akabane's blood.
- Bloody Cross: A cross appears on the palm of Akabane's hand, which then shoots out and cleaves the opponent into four pieces.
