Who is he? Liir Thropp
Where's he from? Wicked / Son of a Witch / A Lion Among Men by Gregory Maguire
Where EXACTLY is he from? Just before joining the home guard in Son of a Witch and he's gone a wee bit AU from there
Basically? Liir is the son of the Wicked Witch of the West. He's servile to a fault, generally rather retiring, but when you get him to open up, he can be rather witty and sort of snarky if he's comfortable enough with you. He loves to cook and bake and will happily feed your pup all the livelong day if given half a chance. As stated, he's got a broom, he's a novice wizard of a sort, and he is in fact looking to overthrow the current corrupt regime in Oz. Despite having a general lack of concern for traditional morality, he's pretty much a pacifist and personal violence just doesn't work for him. AND! he has an adorable dog by the name of Makejoy.
Look out for: HE (and I do mean HE, please don't mistake this as me) has Issues (collected in bound VOLUMES, man) especially when it comes to abandonment, family, and issues of memory/history.
Fun fact! He can make your skin taste different flavors if you ask him to! No. Really.

Where's he from? Slings & Arrows, a Canadian television show
Where EXACTLY is he from? pre-canon, post breakdown.
Basically? He's insane. He's brilliant. He does the plays. His art is everything and he will do anything to get the performance he wants. He will go through hell, highwater, and the court system to put on a performance. He drinks when he can afford it, forgets to eat sometimes, he's a little bit scary occasionally, but at heart he's a very kind man and he'll usually use his keen insight to the betterment of his actors. He can be difficult, but always with a purpose.
Look out for: the fact that he IS clinically insane, he's only recently out of a hospital, and he really WILL do anything for the performance he wants.

Basically? She's a forensic sorceress with a drinking habit, a dry wit, and enough years on her plate to generally not give a damn about what other people think about her. That said, her loyalty to the Crown is almost scarily unswerving and her adherence to her personal code of honor is unwavering. She got sent here after nearly getting caught schtupping her boss and has since taken up with HM Murdock. She has a servant named Mary, a dog named Mike, and an apartment at the MHA.
Look out for: the honor code, the fact that she will not take shit from anyone, and the freeze wand, not to mention her lack of tolerance for bullshit.

Where's he from? Red Dwarf, a science fiction comedy from the BBC
Where EXACTLY is he from? Middle of 'Tikka to Ride'
Basically? There is no summing up Arnold Rimmer. Read the ready bits and watch the watchy bits and you shall know that unknowable font of bitterness and universal hatred.

Where's she from? Mortal Coils by Eric Nylund. No, it's not a Halo book.
Where EXACTLY is she from? the very END of the book
Basically? She's the daughter of Death herself (the Pale Rider, Atropos, etc.) and Lucifer, the fallen Morning Star. Her relationship with her mother is rocky (though she's currently with her mother's family) and she loves her father (who is oddly enough a good parent). She has a twin brother named Eliot, her relatives are gods and heroes from any number of pantheons and mythologies, and her dad's cousins are total jerks. Raised in a very strict household, she was forbidden just about everything other than non-fiction books and chores. The warrior of the two, she can cut anything if she has something to put an edge and the DESIRE to do so; she has no desire to hurt anyone unless pushed. She can also see, touch, and manipulate the threads that make up reality even though she won't want to do it because of a little accident where she cut out her own hungers. She's eaten from the Apple of Immortality and is considered a goddess. That said, she's still 15, still inexperienced and kind of awkward, and she'll bluff through her shyness right off a cliff if she's allowed.
Look out for: her temper, and some emotional problems; other than rage, it's extremely difficult for her to feel anything and most of her emotions are faked at some point or another. Human touch helps with this, but she still has to make an effort. When you also take into account who her relatives are, well... it gets interesting. She's in a precarious situation as her family as they don't trust her and she doesn't know what to do with them, and unfortunately she knows for a fact that her mother doesn't love her so she can be a bit touchy on that.
Fun fact! Fiona's weapons of choice are the tessen and the yo-yo, but she's taken up the sword because she's tired of being laughed at.

Where EXACTLY is he from? end of fourth season
Basically? He's a big buff former football player, former Chicago cop who now works for the BAU of the FBI. In his spare time, he renovates homes. He has a dog named Clooney, one hell of a flying tackle, and at least a part of his soul is marked 'property of Penelope Garcia'. He's friendly, extremely protective, and he likes good food, good times, and good drinks.
Look out for: the fact that he'll occasionally profile off the job. Also, trying to harm Reid will get you a quick trip to lala land. Also, he doesn't take too well to people digging into his personal business and can get pretty defensive.
Fun fact! He likes Kurt Vonnegut, an interest he shares with Agent Prentiss.
