Fiona didn't have much to do on Mondays but be confused by her class (her thankfully finished class) which was why, of course, she ended up calling her brother. It took a few tries before he picked up, at which point the growly, grumpy mutter of Eliot's voice started in with--
"Not everyone has such a light course load as you, you know."
(
Wherein Fiona talks to Eliot again. )
And, well, if she happened to end up in some of those pictures which might get sent to others, well... she didn't know anything about it.

She was pleased to see the other girl, as one could tell from the happy (or pretending to be for the moment) smile on her face and the wave to come in. The kitten just sort of flopped on the pillow unhelpfully.
"Want to help me with this?"

"Eliot wanted pictures. I don't know if he actually believes me."

Peyton reached down to stroke the little kitten. "What can I do? Play with her with string or something?"
No, of course she didn't blush at the mention of Eliot, why would she?

"String, you think? That might be good. It's hard to get the camera in the right place while she's chasing the strap."

"I can imagine," she said, laughing as the kitten licked the tip of her finger with a happy purr. "I think if we can distract her from that, it should work."

Then she handed Peyton her yo-yo.
"Pull out a little bit of the string and dangle it?"

"She is so adorable, Fiona!"

"She is. She's... really sweet. Scritch her behind the ears and she kind of sounds like a boat engine."

And she'd really been very good for Fiona, helping her relax more, feel more without having to touch other people. She'd never been exactly comfortable with touch much before she'd had to cut into herself, but she'd relaxed about it after Robert when it was easier to feel that way. She felt more balanced now.
