Mia won't come back into the room until a few hours later, most likely once after Phoenix is gone and she's gotten a decent amount of sleep for once. It's late in the evening when she returns to Miles' room, carrying a small bag with her. Some sort of gift, perhaps?

Either way, she steps back into the room and sits back down in her seat from earlier. It's nicer this time around, since it seems like things are quieter and not as many people are around [excluding a nurse that might be standing outside his door].

The bag is sat down on the floor gently, as Mia moves herself next to him once more. "Sorry to just re-invite myself in here, but the staff said I could so...Are you still doing alright?"

Miles is sleeping when Mia returns, but hearing her enter as well as hearing her voice is enough to cause him to awaken. He smiles tiredly at her, and pushes himself up into a sit as much as his injuries could allow.

He's still very tired, as his body is still healing, but he's so happy to see Mia again.

"Yes, I am doing fine." He will reach up and gently touch the side of her face. "How are you doing? Did you manage to get some rest?"

For a moment, Mia feels bad for waking Miles up. Then again, the last few times she's come to visit him in a hospital, he's been sleeping, so seeing him awake is a good thing. Part of her wants to say something about him moving around so much though, but she keeps quiet.

She's happy to see him as well though, smiling at him, while bringing one hand to his face also. As long as he doesn't mind her touch, of course.

"Good. It seems like you're doing a lot better than before." Mia blushes a little once his fingers graze her face. His touch feels nice to her right now. "I'm doing much better now. I went home and got some rest, like you wanted me to. But I still wanted to come and spend some time with you regardless."

She nods, before glancing over to the doorway, then back to him. "I doubt I'll get to stay long, since I know the staff around here are probably going to ask me to leave soon."

Considering all the fatigue-induced sleeping he's going to end up doing, and has done over the past few days, being woken up is really one of the better things he can hope for currently.

Nothing's changed the fact that he's impatient and stubborn, though.

"I am. I should be ready to go home soon." He's totally not, but still. He's going to push his recovery as much as possible. Managing a smile at her touch, he tries to move again, which takes a lot of effort, but moves so she has enough room to sit on the bed.

"That is fine. I will make sure they don't turn you away." And he means it, too. He'll argue if he has to.

As long as Miles is comfortable and not too tired, Mia will indeed stay by his side. Although, she can't help but laugh a little at his stubborn nature. Some things never change between them.

"Really? I imagine you've been asking for the release papers ever since you woke up, I'm guessing." She smiles a bit, before removing her hand off his face, resting it near his side. "Though honestly, Miles, you should take it easy until you're fully better." Even though Mia knows how much he hates hospitals, and that they really won't let him go this early.

"Ah, I'm grateful. Even though I'm not a registered nurse, I still want to take care of you somehow." Mia notices that free spot on the bed, sighing a little to herself. After a quick glance outside to see if the coast is clear, she sits down next to him.

"So...everyone here has been treating you well, right? No problems at all?" She's referring to the somewhat interesting staff that runs the clinics, still skeptic about them after earlier. "If not, I'll make sure that someone hears about

"Well, there is still a lot to do." Miles manages a small smile as he looks over to her. "I do not have time to waste.. after all, I have a trial to prepare for." He nearly died and he's ready to go back to work. Somethings never will change. Rest can come after he finds Phoenix innocent, after all.

It really is the least he can do, since all this mess was mostly because of him.

"You do more than enough, just by being here." His genuine smile becomes a little sheepish. "Although.. when you are up to it, I do have a few things I need to ask of you."

A hand lightly rests on her's. "I haven't been awake long enough for that yet." He smirks.

"...A trial to prepare for. Then, you're going to be prosecuting Phoenix?" Mia knows nothing of the talk from earlier, so these are just logical guesses of hers. She frowns a little, before shaking her head. "Will you be alright doing it? I'm concerned about him also, but your health means a lot to me as well."

If he even dares to say that in front of her, Mia won't be the happiest person. She's sticking to her morals; in that Gant and Glening were truly the ones at fault here.

"...What is it that you need, Miles?" Mia gives him a curious look, before moving closer to him. Mentally, she's trying to figure out what he'll say and what it's about. "You know I'll do whatever I can."

Gently, she takes his hand up in her own, entwining his fingers with hers. "Alright. But if even one of them fails to do their job, you'll let me know, okay? I'll be sure to 'talk' with them, so to speak." It seems like Mia is picking up on his habits ever so slowly.

A smile finds way to his face, even if he tries to keep it. He can't help it, he's proud that he is getting such a chance. "No, I'm going to be defending him." Certainly the Prosecutor's Office isn't going to be thrilled with that, but he's in big trouble with them anyway.

Miles is dealing with enough self pity, and the notion that he has to appear strong in front of Mia to make the worry from her less. He's just that stubborn.

"I need you to get something from my house, since Wright nor I can access it right now. On my desk there should be a keycard.. it'll lead someone in to the evidence room, and when the records of who entered are checked, it'll be my name that comes up." He rubs the back of his head, trying hard to bite back a wince. "I don't want you going into the prosecutor's office, but you're the only one who Pess is comfortable with." Maybe the good Detective will do it.

Actually, Gumshoe usually ends up doing everything Miles asks anyway, so there's no doubt there ( ... )

"...? Miles, I wasn't expecting to hear you say that. But, I'm behind you all the way. I know that you'll do a wonderful job as a defense attorney." She gives him a warm smile, showing that she honestly means what she says.

Mia listens to his request quietly, occasionally glancing down at his hand while he talks. Once finished, Mia raises her eyes to his once more, and nods lightly. "I can do that for you, Miles. In fact, once I leave here, I'll stop by your place and grab this card. Anyone is particular that I'm supposed to give it to though?"

Her smile never fades as she agrees to help him, only showing just how much she wants to help right now. "Good. By the way, I didn't know if I should do this, but I brought you something."

Well, he really hopes he does. He's nowhere near on par with his father or Phoenix, for that matter. But standing by Phoenix is better than standing opposite him for something like this, and Miles isn't going back on his decision anytime soon. "Thank you." He'll need any support he can manage.

"Give it to Wright: it is up to him to decide who can be sent out on this, since I am no longer in possession of my cell phone." He sighs. "I am hoping that Detective Gumshoe could investigate that part for me."

...? Miles manages a draumatic sigh, but it is coupled with a smile. "You and buying me things.. you know you do not have to." Although he looks curious now: he likes and appreciates Mia's little 'gifts'.

"Of course. You'll make an excellent defense attorney, and I know it from seeing how you work." Mia smiles once more, before letting go of his hand gently. He should know that whatever waits him and Phoenix, that Mia will be there to support them.

"Understood, I'll be sure that Wright gets this. In fact, if I hear any new information, I'll be sure to let you know." She nods in agreement. "I hope that Detective Gumshoe will be able to help us out."

Mia smiles, before getting up off the bed, in order to go retrieve the bag she brought in earlier. She returns seconds later, sitting back down next to him, offering the gift. The present seems warm, and smells lightly of different aromas.

"I hope no one gets upset over this, but I brought you tea and soup. I figured that you would appreciate a better meal than what they might give you here."

Miles definately knows that, although it doesn't make him any less nervous. It doesn't crack his natural stoicism but he is rather worried on how he is going to pull through. He doesn't want to let anyone down, especially not Phoenix...

The prosecutor nods. "Thank you." Even if Phoenix can't do anything, if he can at least figure out who can help..

Once Mia gets off the bed, Miles finds his full attention on her. Curiousity draws his eyes to the bag and he watches it, smelling what's inside immediately. Hospitals tend to worsen his anorexia, so he hasn't tried eating since he woke up. But that, even if it was just soup.. smells delicious.

...! Oh! He gives her a smile. "Thank you so much." He manages, reaching to try to open the bag. "You are such a wonderful nurse to me." Much better than the ones here, definately. Prettier, too.

Mia catches sight of his emotional reaction, and can't help but blush a little. She's glad that Miles doesn't mind her girlfriend ways; bringing gifts at random, only to make him feel better. She offers to help him with the bag, her fingers grazing lightly over his own.

"...Thank you, Miles. I'm glad that I've earned a spot as a good nurse, in your book." She can't help but smile to his words, while pulls out the small container of soup and a warm thermos of green tea. The tea is set down on a nearby table, while she holds the other in her lap gently. Hmmm. A random thought crosses her mind at this time.

"So, I get to be your nurse for a few days. Well Mr. Edgeworth, I hope you'll be nice to me, even though I know how much you hate hospitals." Mia is joking with him, just by her tone of voice. She can't help but smirk, while idly playing with a spoon in her hands. Her eyes are still glancing down at the soup every so often.

"As long as you don't mind me giving you extra attention, of course..."

It is very nice, especially since he knows the attention and the concern behind it is actually meant. He pulls his hands back just enough to allow her to open the bag. It's taking a bit of effort on Miles' part, anyway.

He settles back enough to watch her remove the contents of the bag, realizing just how starving he is.

"Not at all." He smiles. "It would be nice to be fussed over by such a beautiful nurse." Miles moves some of her hair aside, what he can reach while half-sitting, half-laying down, glancing down to the soup in her lap as well.

That line of thought has to be abandoned. Mia in a nurse outfit is too good of a thought to entertain right now.

Mia has a feeling that even the simplest tasks will be difficult for Miles, which is why she's trying to do everything for him. He's right on one thing though; she is doing this meaning, instead of just faking kindness around him. She would never consider hurting him in any way as well.

"You're such a good patient, Mr. Edgeworth." Mia just keeps the smirk on her face, while the prosecutor plays with her hair. She taps the spoon lightly on top of the soup container, before removing the lid with her free hand. "I'm glad you'll allow someone like me to take good care of you."

If it was anyone else thinking such thoughts, Mia would be entitled to slap them without mercy. However, Miles is the only person whom is permitted to think such sinful things about her, and get away with it.

Mia keeps her eyes trained on him, while dipping the spoon into the spoon carefully. She waits for a moment, as if implying something with just her gaze. He should get the message pretty easily, in that she really is going to baby him like this.

Miles gets some leeway, anyway. He's been in a coma for a few days.

Of course, the implications are there, and Miles raises an eyebrow, picking up on them as she not only taps the soup container, but also when she opens it.

...Looks like he can't really get out of this one. Not that he minds.. if it was anyone else, he would. But since it's Mia..

A soft sigh, and he pushes himself up, angling just enough so he's facing her a little bit so she doesn't have to go far with the soup. He can be a good patient, really.
