(no subject)
Over the past week Adam and I have:
- Driven to the Matamp factory in Huddersfield so Adam could try/buy a new cab. Sat in carpark for a few hours reading my book, it was actually in a nice area by a little river so I amused myself in Morrisons before driving home over the moores!
- Stayed at my mum and dads for a night before heading to...
- Alton Towers! Borrowed a staff pass from Lynn (legend) which enabled us to get in for free, and an hour before anyone else (although most of the rides were still shut anyway, but still beat the queue for the monorail! Wazoo!)
- Been to the Blue Planet Aquarium (Sharks! Rays! Frogs!) and Cheshire Oaks (Clothes! Presents! Donuts!)
- Been with my mum and dad to the Chestnut Centre in Derbyshire and sat in a deerpark meadow in the sunshine with a pic nic (Otters! Lots of otters! A Giant Otter! Owls! A really cute Staffie!)and then Yakisoba for tea
- Celebrated Adam's 24th Birthday by going to Longford Park, playing frisbee, having a mini picnic, sitting in the shade, sitting in the garden and drinking fizzy juice and having Andy & Steph over, then going to Giraffe for a bite to eat before going to watch The Dark Knight
It was so much fun, I feel like I've been on holiday! Back to work yesterday though and the days seem very, very long. The weather is too hot to be sitting in stuffy rooms with the windows closed, and tomorrow I'm on some training course with computers so that's probably going to be roasting! On the other hand, I'd love it to stay this warm 'til the weekend!
We ordered our dining table and chairs, and just have the blinds to get now before everything in the house is sorted! I'm really happy with the way it's turned out, we've made a very comfortable little home for ourselves here.
