Well the Bob Dylan concert a billion years ago was awesome (besides the RIDICULOUS amount of second-hand smoke from potheads, and that Bob only played 4 songs the audience actually knew XD)

But the trip there really was not cool.

It was supposed to take 1.5 hours but it turned out to be a 9-hour round trip. X___X We kept circling around these ( Read more... )

LOL, well you got the Philly concert beat, Bob only did 3 songs the audience knew! Typical Bob. xD

Oh, definitely awesome! He mumbled through the entire show and wore that stupid hat, so I couldn't see his face (and yes, orchestra seats, I could see EVERYONE ELSE'S faces, BOB), and he sings like a bullfrog that's been gargling gravel - but the band was good, Bob actually seemed pleased to be performing, and it was absolutely worth it! How can you not love Bob? Or at the least, be amused by him.

(I might blasphemously venture to say that Leon Russell was a better show [did you see him?], if I were being objective...but I'd whisper it! *grin*)

Haha, yes that hat and those pants, oh lordy XD But it was sweet how excited and happy he appeared to be when performing. I still always picture him as the little guy who doesn't give a shit what everyone thinks, like that Newport Festival in 1966. But he's really a different man now.

Leon Russell WAS amazing! I couldn't even believe he was opening for Bob; it was kind of a tough act to follow, if you ask me. What a great set list Leon had too! Bobbert should take notes from him *coughcough* ;)

Haha, yes, Bob would do well to take notes from Leon! Except that Bob should definitely not have a beard like Leon's...oh please no. Lol! And I'm really glad you enjoyed Leon's set, too; I was wondering if it was just me, since I went by myself and had no one to compare notes with! xD

Lmao, I know, Leon seriously belongs in ZZ Top. We gotta sneak in and put make his piano white and fuzzy :p

I definitely flipped when I heard a rumor that Leon was opening, once we got through the venue gates. And sure enough, it was true. He really sounded a lot better than I thought he would, though definitely even he doesn't have the same voice he used to.

Not saying he wasn't fantastic, but it makes you appreciate non-human people like Macca who haven't changed musically at all, or only gotten better. XD
