I'm Thankful for... John Lennon?

Randomness of the past 48 hours:

1) Did shitty on my SATS so screw dreams of going to Brown XDDD YAY
2) Finished my stupid AP essay that I've needed to do forever
3) My cello teacher basically makes me wonder why I would even consider myself to be a musician (even a bad one at that)
4) Made an apple pie and shuffled my iPod for legit 5 hours today :D LOVE Thanksgiving

All these Beatles/John Lennon things were on the History Channel today 8D

I feel like I accomplished so much, plus I actually watched TV for the first time in... 4 months? O__o  I'm losing that American spirit, yo.

Watched How I Met Your Mother, America's Next Top Model (my guilty pleasure), the movie Notting Hill, and then Beatleness <333

The first Beatles thing was kinda like the Anthology - I'm pretty sure it's that same thing that the History Channel aired a year ago this same week.

But the 2nd thing they showed, I'd never even heard of:

It was John Lennon: Declassified. It's a lot like The U.S. vs John Lennon, only slightly scarier. It talks about his actual FBI files and shows random CRAZZZZY ASS quotes straight from them. Apparently John and Yoko were "supporting North Vietnam," and were "purposely hiding Kyoko to avoid deportation" and just so much bloody BS, I nearly cried. It was brilliant, really.

But it didn't exactly come to the same point as US vs John Lennon, which kinda leads you to thinking that the US government plotted his murder. Declassified just proves that Nixon thought he was one of the main threats to his reelection and therefore tried to deport him.
It's all madness, really. Makes me kinda sick that we're celebrating this country's awesomeness tomorrow.

Oooh, but my mom gave me a discard from the library about 60s culture and music, printed in 1979 <3 God, it's wonderful, even if I know practically every detail in it. It seems like something I'd write XD

One cool point Declassified brought up was that hippies dressed crazily, wore beads and bangles and loud colors, and spoke weirdly, and were completely open/honest/out-there to make it impossible to ridicule them.
That blew my mind on so many levels. I think I knew it all along, but still....

Hope all you Americans have a delicious Thanksgiving XD  And all you non-Americans... well, you're awesome. <3

anthology, food, tv, the 60s, hippies, john lennon, usa, john and yoko, holidays, thanksgiving, history, books, the beatles
