25 Random Things

Sep 29, 2009 23:24

So, I've heard of this "25 random things" list were you write out 25 random facts about two characters (or one, if you so desire) and I decided to do Beckett and Mercer because uh...I could. Oh, for those that care, not slash. Or not obvious slash, for those that see the world through slash tinted glasses, it's there, if you squint.

1. Beckett can fold his tongue into a four leaf clover
2. Mercer once stole a monocle from a man next to him at church (there was a good reason, he swears).
3. Beckett can hum more Lutheran hymns than a choir master from Germany but refuses to give the reason why.
4. Mercer hates the colour chartreuse and is annoyed when Beckett buys things in that colour.
5. Beckett has a sky blue hat with a pink feather that he occasionally wears just for the looks he gets on the street.
6. Mercer's left knee has a scar two inches long from when he fell off a fence when he was eleven.
7. Beckett enjoys fishing more than hawking but would never admit it.
8. Mercer has four sisters, all older than him. They call him Ickle-Joey and still pinch his cheeks when he goes home for Christmas.
9. Beckett has a penchent for misquoting the Bible at inappropriate moments.
10. Mercer tried to lick his elbow when he was younger and has since sworn that the muscle he pulled will never fully heal.
11. Beckett found a mouse in his room, captured it in a hat box, and named it Shnookums. It was his pet and was inconsolable when the barn cat found it (he had wanted to let Shnookums get fresh air).
12. Mercer had a doll when he was four (that his sister Eliza had previously owned) and carried it around everywhere. Eliza swears that he still has it tucked away somewhere. Mercer denies this vehemently and Beckett has made it his quest to find it.
13. Beckett used to wank off at school while reading the love letters of Michelangelo
14. Mercer knows how to read palms and the tarot.
15. Beckett has a rabbit shaped birthmark at the small of his back.
16. Mercer couldn't pronounce his name till he was nine, he used to say '”oseph Merzer”. He will say that this is a lie.
17. Beckett's favorite holiday is Easter because it reminds him of country rides with his father who would usually manage to somehow push him into streams and other bodies of water when they stopped for rests and laugh.
18. Mercer is allergic to cranberries.
19. Beckett's favorite joke involves the Glorious Revolution and Puritans but it can't be told in public.
20. Mercer is a master at puns. (Beckett is not pleased by this.)
21. Beckett tried to play the pianoforte but his teacher told his parents that they would probably be better off spending their money on something else.
22. Mercer knows every court dance known to man but will only demonstrate if bribed appropriately.
23. Beckett can speak Polish and enjoys insulting people in it by calling them “simple minded whores of Babylon who can't tell a horse from a sheep on a sunny day”. (Mercer says that the insult is ridiculously long, Beckett says that the best insults are long insults. Whore and Bastard are overused.)
24. Mercer's right thumb is double jointed.
25. Beckett feels that he would have better self esteem concerning his height if people at school hadn't used him as a leaning post. (Mercer disagrees with this, though he usually does so while using Beckett as, well, a leaning post.)
