My Boyfriend is an Alien - Chapter 4

Aug 13, 2010 23:56

"Wait. Did I hear wrong, or did you just say him-?”

The question was halted by the sound of pattering footsteps coming down the hallway, making the both of them turn in response to the unexpected noise.

Rubbing his eyes, Junsu looked up, a huge fluffy thing that resembled a stuffed bear (but was not quite a bear given it’s odd shape) dangling from one hand.

“Chunnie? What’s wrong? I heard someone yelling, so I came out to see if you were alright…”

“Susu… I’m sorry I woke you up… everything’s alright now, so don’t worry. Just go back to bed, alright?” Yoochun said in a gentle voice, the fire that was in his eyes smothering out in a matter of seconds.

Vision clearing a bit after rubbing his eyes, Junsu noticed the presence of Yoochun’s visitor and immediately bowed politely.

“Hello. You must be Chunnie’s friend. Nice to meet you. My name is Junsu, but you can call me SuSu.  I’m sorry for disturbing you and Chunnie… I’ll be going back to my room right now.”

With that said, Junsu bowed once more then yawned cutely. Turning around, he pattered back to his room, the bear like doll in his hands dragging slightly behind him.

As soon as the door closed, Ga Hee turned back towards Yoochun with her mouth slightly opened in disbelief.

“What. The. Hell???!! Who was that? And why is he staying with you? I thought you hated living with other people, that’s why you moved out when you were younger and wouldn’t even allow me to move in with you even after we had been going out for two years because you said you can’t sleep or focus on anything when others are around?!!” She asked, her voice notably three octaves higher. “Wait. Don’t tell me this… this GUY is the one you are in love with right now?”

Yoochun blinked, processing Ga Hee’s words.  Slowly, a smile crept onto his face as it hit him square in the head.

“You’re right, Ga Hee… I do hate living with others… and I still do… but Junsu’s different because… like you said, I’m in love with him.”

Ga Hee’s jaw dropped even further at the sincere and totally unexpected confession coming from her ex-boyfriend.

“You…You… Yoochun, are you out of your mind? Do you even know what you are saying right now? You claim that you LOVE that guy?”

“Yes. Yes… I do know what I’m saying right now, and no, I’m not talking gibberish because I’m positively sure that I'm truly awake at the moment… although I wasn’t sure at first, after thinking it through and getting yelled at by you, I’m one hundred percent sure about my feelings now…”

With a smile that was truly too blinding to look at because of the overflowing love that accompanied it, Yoochun said, “ I love him.”

“Y-you-!! So you’re telling me that you’re GAY now? Huh? And to top that off, I lost to a guy?”

Raking a hand through her hair, Ga Hee huffed in disbelief.

“And I’m sure your mother doesn’t know about this yet?”

Looking down at his fingers, Yoochun mumbled quietly, “Yeah, she doesn’t… But how could she when even I didn't know...”

“Well, are you planning to tell her then?”

“I-“

“If you aren’t, then I will. But if you don’t want your mother to have a heart attack after hearing that her eldest son is actually gay, then you will know better than to continue this… whatever with this Junsu guy.” Ga Hee threatened, her heels clacking nosily as she made her way towards the door.

“Wait!” Yoochun yelled out, using one arm to block her exit. “Ga Hee, don’t. Just don’t, okay? You know that Umma has a weak heart…”

Raising one eyebrow, Ga Hee turned towards Yoochun’s worried face and smiled.

“Of course I know… and you should know what she thinks about such relationships, given that she is a Christian and all…”

“Ga Hee… just give me a break, alright? What do you want out of all this? I mean, it’s not like you have any more feelings for me or anything… Is it money? If it is, how much do you want?” Yoochun pleaded desperately.

“You don’t get it, do you, Yoochun? It’s not all about money… I just want what every woman my age wants. To be married to a successful husband and have a place that I can call home… to have a family… I’m not growing younger every day, you know … And since I’ve had all the fun I wanted, I think it’s time to settle down.”

Yoochun squeezed his eyes shut, a little portion of his heart that still held a tad bit of feelings (although not the loving kind, but the friendship type) for his ex crushing in pity.

“Look, I understand your situation, but I don't think I’m the man to fulfill your dreams. Even if we were to be forcefully married, neither of us would be happy. It would be a fake type of marriage that holds not significant meaning, you know what I mean?”

Putting one hand into his pant pocket, Yoochun’s eyes lit up as his fingertips brushed against an object that he had subconsciously carried around with him wherever he went, apparently when he slept as well.

Taking out the pen, Yoochun raised it so that it was right in front of Ga Hee’s face, one finger on the blue button.

“I’m sorry for doing this, Ga Hee-ah… but I think it’s for the best… for you, me, and everyone else. I hope you find that special someone in the near future. Goodbye.”

“Wha-“

Before Ga Hee could ask him what he had meant by that, Yoochun clicked the button, watching as her frustrated face was replaced by a rather confused looking one.

“What am I doing here?” She said to herself, one hand coming up to touch her head as if an important part of her memory had just slipped through her fingers without a warning.

Looking up, she stared at Yoochun and said, “Who are you? And where am I?”

Putting a warm hand on her shoulder, Yoochun said gently, “You rang my doorbell, but it appears that you got the wrong house. You then asked me to use my washroom because you were in such a hurry to leave the house that you didn’t have the time to do so, but right when you came out, you blacked out. I was going to take you to the hospital, but before I could reach the door, you came to again. Are you alright?”

“I’m… I did? Oh… I guess, yeah… I feel alright… My head just kinda feels… weird… Anyways, I apologize for everything… I’ll go now… but thank you for being so kind…”

Squinting at Yoochun, Ga Hee said, “For some odd reason, it feels like I’ve known you for a long time… have we met before this?”

Smiling, Yoochun said, “I get that all the time. Anyways, be careful on your way back and be sure to go and see a doctor. Take care.”

“Alright… thank you… Mr…?”

“Park. Park Yoochun. Goodbye, Ga Hee…”

As the door closed, Yoochun let out a deep sigh, leaning his head back against the door.

His heart felt heavy, as if he had done something terribly wrong and had no idea how to deal with it.

Looking sideways, he spotted his cell phone on the coffee table, as if God was giving him a clue as to how to solve the aching in his heart.

Reaching over towards it, he hit speed dial number 3 and waited.

When the familiar warm voice of his best friend reached his ears, the concerned tone alone made his chest loosen slightly.

“Yeah, it’s me. Do you have a minute to come out for a cup of coffee?”

“I see… well, in my opinion, I think you did the right thing.” Yunho said seriously after hearing Yoochun’s story.

“Really?”

“Yeah… if I were in your shoes, I probably would’ve done the same thing… but that's not the most important thing… the most important thing at hand is… how do you really feel about this Junsu fellow, Yoochun-ah?” Yunho asked, putting down the cup of coffee in his hands.

Although the small coffee shop was considered somewhat deserted, given that it was such a sunny hot day and everyone was outside to enjoy it, Yoochun still felt himself blush slightly in embarrassment.

Looking down at the cup of Americano, Yoochun tried to buy some time by swirling the spoon in the dark black substance, even though he had not added any sweetener or sugar.

Taking a deep breath, he looked up into his best friend’s searching eyes and said honestly, “I love him.”

“Yoochun-ah… Love is a very strong word and it carries a lot of things along with it… Are you ready to accept the fact that he may not love you? Are you able to continue living with him and not expect him to ever return your feelings?”

“Yes.  I’ve given this matter some thought and my answer is still yes… even if he doesn’t feel the same way about me… it’s okay.”

Nodding, Yunho patted Yoochun’s hand in an understanding way.

“Of course, I hope that you and him will end up together, because I’ve noticed how happy you have become these past few days… I’ve only seen you this happy when we were in high school and I had hoped that I would be able to see that genuine smile of yours once more… seems like Junsu came along just at the right time… and I’m glad to see how much he has changed you…  although I am still a tad bit worried…” Yunho confessed.

Yoochun smiled at Yunho’s words, understanding why Jaejoong had fallen in love with such a caring man.

“Thanks for caring about me, bro. But I think I’ll be fine… I’m totally prepared for whatever comes my way… be it a heart break or the discriminating looks that people shoot my way… all I know at this moment in time is that I want to be honest with my own feelings and not hide it…”

Chuckling, Yunho said, “You remind me of myself when I was in university and was head over heels for Jaejoong… Well, if you ever need someone to talk to feel free to give me a call anytime. I’ll come right away.”

Smiling, Yoochun said, “Are you sure you want me to call you ‘anytime’? I don’t want to disturb you and Jaejoong’s little ‘play time’ at night…”

Yunho’s face immediately turned bright red with embarrassment, making Yoochun laugh loudly and give his best friend a hearty smack on the back.

“Chunnie?”

Yoochun heard Junsu’s timid voice call out to him as soon as he opened the door, his eyes widening slightly in surprise when he saw the man run towards him with tears in his eyes.

Dropping the keys in his hands on the table, Yoochun rushed towards Junsu and took him by the shoulders.

“What’s wrong, SuSu-ah? Are you alright?” Yoochun asked in concern, frantically surveying Junsu’s body for any form of injury.

Shaking his head, Junsu said, “I’m… I’m fine. It’s just that when I woke up, you were no where to be seen… I kept calling out for you… but you weren’t there… and… and I knew that you had no work today, so I couldn’t go find you there… I wanted to go out and find you but I don't know my way around… I thought you had left me because you didn't like me or something…”

“Oh SuSu-ah…” Yoochun said softly, wrapping the quivering man up in his arms. “You silly little thing… I just went out to talk to an old friend of mine about certain things… and of course I don’t hate you… in fact, I like you… a lot…”

“Y-you do?” Junsu’s small voice came from under him.

“Yes… I do…” Yoochun said truthfully, hugging Junsu closer to his chest and inhaling the wonderful feeling of his heart beating against the one he loved.
