Prologue: Weirdness to the Max

Every day, unexplainable things occur on Earth… things that may seem odd at first, but are in fact, something we term as...

Fate.

“What the hell?” The man spat out, shaking his head at the sight of the huge line up in front of the instant cash machine.

He looked down at his Rolex watch and let out a loud sigh, his (larger-than-normal) forehead creasing in frustration.

He had originally planned to go out and buy a quick, simple lunch before heading back to his office again, but he realized that he didn’t have any cash on him, a bad habit that most businessmen have, always relying on their shiny platinum cards instead of the “green stuff”.

And since the little coffee shop he frequented had an “only cash” rule, he had no choice but to go to the nearest teller machine to take out some cash.

But seeing the non-moving lineup gave him second thoughts.

“YA! Why isn’t this line moving?” Yoochun yelled out to the others in front of him, earning himself a lot of shrugs and nods of agreement.

Looking down at his watch again, Yoochun rolled his eyes and stepped out of the line, storming past countless people and reaching the front of the line, finding the origin to the problem.

“That’s odd… how come it doesn’t work?” The dark chocolate brown haired man muttered to himself, scratching his head and staring at the screen of the machine.

Impatience nearing the bridge of insanity under the sweltering heat and pressuring time constraint, Yoochun laid a hand on the curve of the man’s shoulder and swung him around so that he could glare at the man with his fiery eyes.

But what Yoochun saw made him freeze momentarily.

Those incredibly round, adorable eyes that were full of confusion and a hint of innocence that would make anyone who saw it want to go “Aww…” and pinch his cheeks, as well as those unbelievably juicy thick lips that was turned down slightly in a cute pout, made the anger within Yoochun’s body sizzle to a halt.

Instead of yelling at the man, like he had originally planned, Yoochun gulped and let go of his hold on the man’s shoulder to scratch his head.

Looking up and seeing the numerous people still waiting impatiently in line, Yoochun remembered what he was here for and turned back towards the surprisingly attractive young fellow and cleared his throat.

“Uh, what seems to be the problem? Do you know that there is a huge line up of people waiting to get some cash as well?”

“Oh.” The man blinked cutely, as if he had just noticed his surroundings. “Mianhe. But it seems that this machine is not working.”

“Really? Hmm.. lemme take a look…” Yoochun said, bending down and looking at the screen. Pressing a few buttons, he frowned and said, “No, it’s working perfectly fine. Are you sure you keyed in the right code?”

“Yes. I’m sure I did. 7788921452…” Eyes looking up at the sky, he tapped his chin and said quietly, “Or was it 7788942153?”

“Uh, it’s neither… The code should be only six digits… and you keyed in…” Yoochun counted his fingers and raised an eyebrow.
“Ten.”

“Only six? You only use six digits here? Really? Wow…”

Yoochun scoffed and said, “Yeess… We have always used only six… Seriously, what planet have you been living on all this time…”

The man gasped in surprise, taking Yoochun by the shoulders and looking up at him with incredibly wide eyes.

Quickly taking him to the side, he said in a hushed voice, “How did you know I’m not from this planet?”

“Wh-what?” Yoochun said in disbelief, wondering if he had heard right.

Laying a finger on Yoochun’s lips and looking around him, as if he were worried someone would hear, he said, “Are you one of them?”

Yoochun shook his head, although he had no idea what the man had meant by that, and wondered how someone who looked so cute could be so damn strong, because he sure as hell couldn’t get out of the steel like grip the man had on his arms.

Letting out a sigh of relief, the man wiped the tiny beads of sweat on his forehead and released Yoochun’s aching arms.

“That’s good… Oh! Right!” The man yelled out suddenly, whipping his head up to look at Yoochun again, who immediately jumped
backwards in surprise, eyes and mouth opened in shock, hands coming up in a defensive gesture.

“What?”

Giggling slightly, a splash of cotton candy pink creeping onto his chubby cheeks as he looked down at the floor and pulled at the corners of his shirt, he mumbled something that Yoochun couldn’t quite make out.

“Huh? Sorry, I didn’t quite hear what you just said… Come again?” Yoochun said, leaning slightly inwards towards the cream colored beauty.

“Um, do you think you could lend me twenty dollars?” He said in a slightly louder voice, then quickly looked down at the floor again.

“Twenty dollars?” Yoochun asked, wondering if he had heard right.

“Yes. Because that rude machine over there wouldn’t give me back my card-“

“Yeah, well, that’s because the machines usually eat up your card after three tries and you have to go inside and ask the bankers to retrieve it-“

“-so now I don’t have any cash on me… and I don’t have enough time to go and explain my situation to those, um, bank peoples you mentioned before…”

“Uh. Sure.” Yoochun said. “Just let me get some money first…”

Turning around, he noticed that the line up had already cleared and quickly inserted his card into the machine and withdrew five twenty-dollar bills.

“Here.” Yoochun said, handing a twenty dollar bill over to the man and thinking, Well, it’s only twenty dollars… even if he’s lying to me cuz he’s some swindler, I wouldn’t be losing much…

Taking the twenty dollar bill out of Yoochun’s hands, the man looked up with tears glistening in his eyes, clasping Yoochun’s hands in his own and saying, “Thank you… thank you so much… you are such a kind, considerate earthling…”

E-earthling? Did he just call me a…

“I shall pay you back as soon as I deal with the mission I was given… How can I contact you?”

“Uh… it’s fine. I mean… it’s only twenty dollars…”

“No no… as a citizen of Constellation 57892, our motto is: ‘Trust and honesty is worth more than gold’. That’s why I must return your good favor, otherwise I will feel forever in debt of you.”

“Uh… a citizen of Constellation…” Yoochun shook his head, wondering if he were in fact talking to a mentally unstable patient.

Pushing all the questions he had in his mind and figuring that it would probably take him AGES before he got them all answered, Yoochun took out his wallet from his back pocket and withdrew one of his business cards, handing it over to the man.

“Here’s my contact information. You can just give me a call or something, whatever you like. I have to hurry back to work, so… yeah. Good luck with your… uh… Mission… Mr…?”

He took the card, looking down at it then smiled cutely. “Oh, you can call me SuSu.”

“S-SuSu?”

“Yup. It’s short for Junsu.” He looked down at the card and said, “Thank you times a billion Chunnie!~ I’ll see you later then!!”

He waved goodbye and skipped down the street, leaving Yoochun standing there, wondering when his name had turned into Chunnie, then chuckled and stepped into his black Lamborghini, skipping his lunch but feeling slightly happier than normal on the inside.

“Um, sorry to disturb you, Mr. Park.”

The somewhat confused voice of his secretary came through the intercom, drawing him away from the legal documents in his hands.

Putting down the papers, he pressed the little speak button on his intercom.

“Yes? What is it, Eun Jung?” Yoochun asked his secretary.

“You have a visitor.”

Furrowing his eyebrows at the unexpected news, since he was sure that there were no appointments scheduled for today, Yoochun pressed the intercom button once more and asked, “Who is it?”

“I’m not so sure myself… but he claims to have something for you?”

There was a slight crackle at the end, in which a somewhat familiar voice said something to his secretary, in which his secretary said something back.

Curiosity getting the better of him, Yoochun got up from his desk and walked out of his office, feeling his heart skip a beat when he opened the door to see a pair of tear shaped eyes that had been on his mind for the past few days.

Hearing the door open, the man looked up from his conversation with Yoochun’s secretary and smiled, his eyes curving into watery crescent moons.

“Chunnie!”

Upon hearing the little nickname. Eun Jung’s eyes widened in surprise, biting down on her lower lip to stop herself from bursting out in laughter.

“Songsannim, I didn’t know… this gentleman just…” Eun Jung tried to explain helplessly, a hint of fear in her eyes.

Recovering from his initial shock, Yoochun waved a “don’t worry” hand in the air, rubbing the bridge of his nose with the other.

“No, it’s fine. Um, he’s an… acquaintance of mine.”

Beckoning towards Junsu, Yoochun said, “Um, SuSu, whatever it is that you have come to talk to me about, let’s just discuss in my office, ok?”

“Oh, ok!” Junsu replied simply, following Yoochun into his office without any further comments or questions, which was a huge relief to Yoochun, who feared that the young man would go insane and say weird things like last time.

Oh God, I hope he didn’t come here to ask me for more money… Man, I shouldn’t have given him my business card last time… Just because he was pretty cute and I was in a rush to get back to work, I lost my logical sense of judgment… Aish… Yoochun thought to himself as he closed the door to his office.

Oh well, I created this mess, so I guess I’m the one to clean it up…

Letting out a small sigh, Yoochun turned around and said, “Okay, how much do you need this-“

“Oh wow, Chunnie! Your office is so nice! So organized and clean… although it is kind of small… but it looks exactly like they said in the picture books!” Junsu exclaimed, eyes sparkling in amazement and excitement, as if he were a little kid who had just been taken to the zoo for the very first time.

Furrowing his eyebrows in confusion, Yoochun scratched his head at the odd statement then shook away all the odd questions floating around in his mind, lecturing himself quietly as to why he kept losing his train of thought whenever he was near this incredibly odd man.

“Um, thanks… I guess? Anyways, what was the reason for your little ‘visit’ today?” Yoochun asked impatiently, walking over to his desk and sitting in his swivel chair.

“Oh, right! Um, I came here to thank you again for lending me the money two days ago! Also, to give you back the money you lent me!”

Reaching into the curve of his back pocket, (in which Yoochun got a good look at the young man’s impressive, curvy behind), Junsu withdrew a crisp, new-looking twenty dollar bill and handed it politely over to Yoochun with both hands lifted slightly above his lowered face.

Finding the overly polite gesture amusing, Yoochun found himself smiling out of disbelief.

Noticing that Yoochun wasn’t taking the bill out of his hands, Junsu looked up, cocking his head slightly to the side in a questioning manner.

“Chunnie? Is this not the right one?”

Looking down at the bill in his hands, Junsu scratched his head in confusion, mumbling to himself, “But I was sure that it was this one… I even made a scan of it into my Handy Scan 2000…”

Coughing to hide the giggle that was making its way up his throat because the young man’s expression was just so adorable, Yoochun smiled and reached over to take the bill out of Junsu’s hands.

“No, it’s the ‘right one’, if you mean the amount you owe me.”

A bright smile lit up Junsu’s face upon hearing this, one that was full of so much joy and happiness that it immediately captivated Yoochun’s heart and soul.

Never in his twenty something years of life had he ever seen such a beautifully genuine smile.

His every day life was full of only fatigue filled faces, agitated and worried people that made even the sunniest day a gray and miserable one.

So it was a huge shock for him to see such a rare phenomenon, especially when it was over something as trivial as returning money to someone and getting the amount correct.

“Ah, that’s a relief! Yes, I knew I got it right… there was no way I could’ve gotten it wrong…” Junsu said to himself, nodding his head up and down thoughtfully.

“Uh… right… So, is there anything else I could do for you? Perhaps… any legal issues that need to be dealt with? I could, uh, give you a discount or something…” Yoochun said hesitantly, not wanting the man to leave for some odd reason and hoping that he would stay a little longer to talk to him.

“Legal issues?” Junsu said, as if he wasn't quite sure of the term.

“Yeah… like, land claim issues… tax issues…”

Junsu’s clouded eyes suddenly cleared as the words clicked in his mind, looking up with a “Oh!” smile pasted on his face.

“No no, I don’t need things that like that. On Constellation 57892, we don’t have such trivial things. We just live simply and every block of space is shared by every one!” Junsu exclaimed cheerfully.

Ah… Constellation 57892 again… right, I forgot that I was dealing with a mental patient… And for a second, I actually thought he was normal…

“Um, alright then, I guess-“ Yoochun said hesitantly, knowing that this was probably the right time to see his little “visitor” off.

But Junsu cut him off by suddenly yelling a very loud, “AH!”

Almost falling off of his chair in surprise, Yoochun looked up at the man with his eyes wide open, wondering what was wrong.

“Wh-what?”

Reaching into his other back pocket for something, Junsu withdrew a small pen, the type that you can click and have different colors come out of them.

“I almost forgot! This is for you! A thank you gift for helping me out the other day!”

“Uh… great… a multicolored pen…” Yoochun said, not bothering to tell the man that he had a ton of them at home from his preschool days.

“You’re welcome! BUT! This isn’t just any old pen, Chunnie!”

Leaning forward as if he were telling a top secret and didn’t want anyone else to hear, Junsu put one hand over the side of his face and whispered, “This is a magical pen!!!”

Yoochun just stared at Junsu, not sure what to say and how to react to the man’s clearly excited and expectant face.

“Uh… that’s… cool?” Yoochun said uncertainly.

“I know! Isn’t it? But you have to be careful, because it’s VERY powerful! The blue one erases people’s memories!” Junsu exclaimed, his voice notably sixteen decibels higher than before.

“Oh really?”

“Yup! So only use it when you absolutely have to! Also, the red one is for when you are in a very tight and inescapable situation. Just press it once and you’ll be able to get out of it immediately!”

“And what does the black one do?” Yoochun asked out of curiosity, knowing that this was all just gibberish, but taking an interest in the kind of explanation the young man would come up with.

“Ohh… the black one is the most important one… because it can grant you one wish! Any wish at all! But be very, very careful as to what you wish for…” Junsu warned with a serious expression that made Yoochun wonder how the young man was so good at telling a lie without blinking.

“Alright then… uh, thanks for the…” Yoochun gestured towards the pen, then continued, “…awesome magical pen. I will put it to good use.”

“Okay!” Junsu said with a smile, clasping his hands together in a happy gesture. “I hope it helps you a bit! I’ll be back to retrieve it after you have used up all the functions. Remember, you can only use each button once, and after that, the pen will return back to it’s regular functions and have no magical use whatsoever.”

“Great! Um, I will remember that then…”

“Well, I won’t bother you with your work! See you later, Chunnie-ah! And take care!”

With that said, Junsu left the room, leaving a very amused Yoochun sitting at his desk, looking at the pen in his hands and chuckling.
