So I shoulda posted this like 2 weeks ago but I didnt have time so heres me accounts from 2 weeks ago haha. I was in Gilford NH for 3 days for Soul Fest '06 and it was the most amazing time ever. Im just gonna throw this all into a cut because I know its gonna be long.
These past 3 days have been the most amazing days, I still cant get over what I just experianced. First off I wanna say that I took a ton of pics and vids of the bands and stuff that ill post later.
We got there Wednesday afternoon. Oh my gosh it was interesting jusst getting there. A word to the wise, never use Mapquest. It sent us up the wrong side of the mountain, we went up rocky rough terrain just to get to a fire watch tower. So we finally got there and it took us 2 hours just to set up the tents because there were so many people that camping was set up in a place thats usually a parking lot so it was really rocky and PA had a hard time getting the stakes in, we bent like 3 or 4 of them. So we finally got it in and then we went to go see KJ-52, oh gosh he was so good. Then we went off to play some games, yeah I got my butt whooped at this game where you whack eachother with big plastic whacking devices lol I dunno what it was called!!! Anyways erin beat me, it sucked hahaha. It was fun though. Later on I got to see Superchick!!! Oh my gosh their show was soooooooooooooooooo good. We saw them and then Decemberadio they were wicked good and then News Boys came on but me and Kenny went to go see Dead Poetic at the other stage, they were pretty good. After that most of the group went to After Glow, it was like an hour and a half of Worship music. I didnt feel good though and I was tired so me, PA, and Tommie went back to camp. We read the book of Jude and then went to bed.
Thursday we got up and a lot of the people went to the morning worship service but I stayed behind with PA and Tommie. We hung out, played some football and then headed out to the main grounds to see whats going on and we went to this thing called Hard as Nails and saw a guy preach about some stuff and then afterwords we hung out, and waited for the next set of bands, thursday was gonna be a few other bands including Mercy me, that was a lot of fun.
Friday we did some more stuff around the place, me and steph went up the ski lift and stuff, it was mad high! Later on we went to the fire of prayer tent and that was pretty cool, and then I went to this t-shirt stand where you could make your own t-shirts, I made 2. 1 said "The still quiet voice tells me what to do" and had a bible verse on it and on the back it said "If you knew Jesus youd be saved right now" and the other one said "Jesus has skills" on the front and on the back it says "Satan is a freakin' Idiot Gosh..." hahaha My mom said it was kinda offensive, I said it is only if your a satanist. Anyways! While I was making a shirt I met the lead singer of the apologetix, haha it was pretty sweet, We sent to go see them later.
Saturday was like the band day, we saw Chris Tomlin with Leeland and Matt Maher in the tent and then we were waiting for Jon Micha from Kutless to come play an acousti set with them but his plane was late and by the time he got there the other band had to go on so hes like well lets go outside and play and me steph and erin wanted a good spot so we went right outside and right as I Went out, so did Jon Micha and yeah I got to meet him too hehehe I was so excited. Then later on we got to see Kutless play and then Chris Tomlin oh man so good! After that we had to leave though.
Man you should have seen how many people were there, again ill have pics later. But there was an offical count taken, there were 10,000 people there. ....thats nuts. 10,000 people, just like me. Well not just like me, but in the same faith. 10,000 people that wont shun you for what you believe. 10,000 people that you can be you around and not be afraid. It was great. Rockin out, praising and worshiping, I loved it. I wish I could have lived there.
