What I really want for Christmas

Dec 11, 2008 00:15

So I've been listening to Christmas music pretty much non-stop lately and this song came up on the radio. Seeing how everyone's been asking me what I want this year, I thought this song would be the perfect response. I've even highlighted the stuff I want most:

Do you remember me
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies

Well, I'm all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I'm not a child
But my heart still can dream

So here's my lifelong wish
My grown up christmas list
Not for myself
But for a world in need

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal the heart
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end oh,
This is my grown up Christmas list

As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath the tree

But heaven only knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
Oh, This is my grown up christmas list

What is this illusion called the innocence of youth
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, oh
This is my grown up christmas list
This is my only life long wish
This is my grown up christmas list

In case you didn't recognize it or don't know the song it's called "My Grown Up Christmas List." Kelly Clarkson did a remake of it but I forget who sings the original, which (I think) was the one on the radio.

Anyways, bedtime now. Time to go off and dream about getting all this lovely stuff this year!
