July 24, 2008 - Book Report Making

The Booklover’s club activity for this day was making a book report. This is book report is for the project of each member in this quarter.

We used the time given to us by searching and reading a book that we are going to use as a guide for our report.

As usual, few members grab textbooks. They chose small and thin books so that they could easily finish reading it and so that they can have a very understanding report.

Actually, this activity really helps us a lot to gain some knowledge here in the library. We shared some facts, info’s and trivia that we had gotten from the books that we read.

We had proven that each member in the club is really a booklover.

August 15, 2008 - Visit The Library Puzzle Game

Ms. Salapare prepared a mind-expanding activity for us. Like last week, we were grouped as how we used to be.

All of us are familiar on that game. We called it VISIT THE LIBRARY PUZZLE GAME. The objective is to use brainstorming to get 30 word in the puzzle. The words must be related in the library.

We spent our time looking for word on the puzzle. Some of the word can be found suspiciously, but some were not.

We were so happy that the bonding in each one of us were sprouted from in every activity we had here in Booklover’s Club. That’s why, while going out in the library, all of us were laughing with each.

Anyway, Our group preceded by Otan Sabado was the first one who got all the words. We were declared as the winner.

August 22, 2008 - Scavenger Hunt

Have you experience looking for some books in the library wherein you only know the info's in the call card? I guess so…

Our activity today is called Scavenger Hunt. It’s like the Garfield game in the internet wherein you are going to find the items that you need to accomplish. The difference is that.. only the call card is given to us. There is no clues given, just the call card.

It is a good game for us booklovers. It’s because it’s like a training for us so that we would know how to find books using only the call card whenever it is necessary to do so.

Cooperation is the main key to win in the game.

We ended the period again with so much enjoyment and learning.

September 12, 2008 - Planning of DCOM Activity

No game. No enjoyment.

That is what happened today. Each of us were bored because we just planned for our activities for the upcoming DCOM Activity of Booklover’s Club.

Cherey Bigay already prepared the assignments of each year level and I was the one who acted as a speaker that time.

Each of us contributed 30 pesos for the food and the prizes. Ms. Salapare decided to buy the prizes in Divisoria.

The games were entrusted to the sophomores. Two representatives of this batch were the clowns.

The 3rd year were assigned in the other things while the seniors will be the hosts for that day.

And we ended up with assignments to do.

September 26, 2008 - DCOM Acivity

Yeah! It’s time for the kids! :D

Booklover’s Club members do not only love books but they also enjoy giving some happiness to children. That’s the essence of being a booklover’s club member. If the books give enjoyment to them, they will return it back to the people who deserve to be happy.

The DCOM Activity was a successfull one. The children ate gratifyingly the pansit that we prepared.

The palayok was a very tricky game for the children. Almost all of us were shouting for the kid to beat the palayok. Everyone relished in this activity.

The clown was so funny! hahaha! Spaghetti and McDo were their names! The children had fun with them! Yeahbah!

Each member had a children to befriend with. We got to know the children more.. as how we understand the books that we read.

October 10, 2008 - Library Quiz

Insomuch as we don’t have a game last time, Ms. Salapare prepared a quiz for us. Essentially, the quiz was not that hard. It was just all about the common books and the parts of the library.

However, we don’t know the answers for some of the questions. If you were really a booklover, you could easily answer all of the questions. Luckily, Ms. Salapare allowed us to use the books so that we could browse for the answers.

Finally, we got to finish it.

October 24, 2008 - Adopt-a-Book

Another exciting activity had been prepared by Ms. Salapare for this day. It was an adopt-a-book game. Actually, it was a requirement for each member.

The objective of the activity was to draw a cover for the book that you usually love to read. Using the creativity, you need to think of a picture that could describe the title of the book that we had chosen.

We used the time to look for an inspiring book that we are going to use in our project.

And then, we drew it in a bond paper.

Ms. Salapare gave us an extended deadline for this. Thanks to her.

November 14, 2008 - Essay and Poem Writing

This was a new requirement of the Booklover’s Club members. The freshmen and the sophomores were assigned to make a poem while juniors and seniors need to write an essay. The topic was all about the theme for the upcoming National Book Week next week.

Actually, we thought that this was also a contest included next week. But Ms. Salapare told us that she’ll just put some grades about this.

YIPEE!! I’m FINISHED!! AND NOW I CAN SLEEP NOW!
