(no subject)
long time no see, livejournal world. i have been quite busy finishing out my summer and such, and now that i'm finally back into the swing of things, a short little update is in order.
firstly, i went to wake forest and chapel hill a few weeks ago and i fell in love with chapel hill all over again. don't get me wrong, wake forest is a great school, but chapel hill is just calling my name. if i don't get in there, i just don't know what i'll do with myself.
the school year started off with a football game against south which i guess was technically a few days before school started. catholic didn't perform the best that we have, but we still were victorious. and after much shit talking that actually had me pretty concerned, we killed myers park and i got to hang out with the losing crowd later that night. cheerleading is great this year. its so cool to have parents and teachers come up and tell you how great the squad looks, especially compared to previous years. being a captain is great, although it is stressful and a ton of responsibility. the payoff definitely outweighs the negatives in the long run and finally, i have a sense of accomplishment with cheerleading, rather than just some showmanship. we actually condition; running, crunches, pushups, jumps, everything. it's so great.
i actually don't mind my classes at all this year, which is pretty good. i've got anatomy, AP stats, french II, AP econ, AP english, religion, and oceanography, in that order. my teachers are awesome and i've been pretty motivated already. granted, its only the first full week, but i like where things are going. i do miss some of my friends that i had classes with last year. i feel like we're growing apart and i really don't want that to happen. conversely, i'm making some great new friendships and senior year so far feels pretty good. its actually kind of nice with andy at school, too. we're finally starting to bond like some of the brothers and sisters i know and envy. he's a pretty cool kid when he's not talking shit.
i started dance back up tonight. each year, i get bumped way up, but this has been the most painful and difficult transition yet. i seriously doubt that i will be able to move tomorrow, much less cheer. on the bright side, mary k offered me a ticket to counting crows/goo goo dolls tomorrow so i'm super excited about that. thanks girrrrl.
so that wasn't too short, but i needed to write, you know, get some things off my chest. apparently, i'm one of few at catholic that see the value and benefit of keeping a journal, but i love it.
