In a poof of obviously magical smoke, emerged the armored figure of Ramza. Despite not expecting a fight, he had learned to come prepared and his two ninja swords rested, one to a hip. He looked around, trying to find Arche. Needless to say, he was excited to fly and was a bit...hyper about it.

Seeing the cloud of smoke come from nowhere, Arche decided that was probably him. What else could have been the cause? She blinked curiously when she saw that he had come with armor and two swords... Not even Cless wore that much armor, and it's not like they had an over-active monster problem. She gave a slight shrug and decided to have some fun with him. She turned herself upside down on her broom and appeared in front of him. "Boo!" she said, a playful tone in her voice. It was just like when she was playing around with Master Klarth.

Not sensing Arche approach him from behind, Ramza continued his search. With his nervous energy, he was the perfect target for this kind of thing. As soon as she spoke, Ramza rolled forward and spun quickly, preparing to counter attack anything that had snuch up behind him. However, when he saw the pink hair, he recongized the person. "Oh, Miss Arche. You startled me."

He stood up again and removed his hands from his hilts. Goddess he was embarresed, he was as red as a fully adult chocobo. But, the embarrasment was forgotten for awe as he saw her upside down....flying. His eye expanded in shock. "You really...can fly?"

She gave a slight giggle when she saw just how nervous and embarrassed he was. Going right-side up on her broom, she fixed her hair as she remained floating. As he stopped blushing she gave a wide grin and said happily, "Yup! What did I tell you! I wouldn't lie about something like this!" She then held onto her broom as she stood up on it and moved more towards the front to give him some room to climb on. With a small smirk she asked him, "So what? You going to try or what?"

((Sorry for the short-ness. I have to go for the night. Bye~))

Ramza smiled just as wide as Arche did. "Well, Miss Arche, it is quite a different thing to hear about flying and to actually see it." He laughed heartily, the tension leaving him as he did so.

At the offer, Ramza grinned and asked but one question, "Should I remove my armor first?"

She gave a slight blink of confusion as she folded her arms behind her head. She hadn't really thought much of flying, as she had been doing so for a while. Not many people were surprised about it. But apparently Ramza was. "Well, you're the first to think so, but that's okay."

As he asked if he should remove his armor, she thought about it for a while. If the broom could hold both Chester and her, it should be fine no matter what. But deciding better safe than sorry, she nodded and said, "Yeah, go ahead. It'd be easier that way. I'll take care of any monsters we see, so no worries."

Ramza nodded in understanding. "In Ivalice, there has not been a person in the air since the lost age of airships. Flying is for the birds and flying monsters." It was true. Magic was powerful, but no one had ever thought to make a flying spell. If they had, no doubt it would have been used for scouting during the 100 Year War and the Lion War ( ... )

"Airships, huh? Sadly, we don't have any of those around here. But we do have birds and flying monsters... They take up most of the airspace though, so I have to take out a few of them with my magic when they're being a nuisance," Arche replied, scratching her head slightly in rememberance of when a bird pecked her. Not to mention the other time that one bird pulled on her ponytail. She had placed those under the bad memories section of her brain, along with when Dhaos had sent that horde of flying monsters out to get them. Luckily Master Klarth and her had managed to take care of all of them...at least, before the Mana Cannon came in ( ... )

Ramza nodded and tried to get on the broom. However, as he was not sure how to get on, he fell off several times, landing most ungracefully. He eventually found out that, for him, crossing his legs at the knees would keep him on. Ramza tapped Arche on the shoulder and proclaimed his readiness to go flying. Huh, go flying, him? Who would have thought it?

Arche had to hold in a few laughs as he continued to fall off. Oh well, he wasn't the first one. It wasn't like everyone could immediately know how to ride a broom. Even in the beginning, she had a few hard times, and her father didn't even try to hide his amusement whenever she fell off. After he finally got settled and tapped her on the shoulder, she grinned widely and said, "Okay then! Hold on, I'll try to take off as easily as I can, I guess. Besides I'll catch you if you fall off..." She then lowered the broom to the ground a little bit and pushed off with her feet to give them a good start. The take off was smooth, as usual and it wasn't long before they up against the clouds with the ruins of Midgard far below them.

At her words, Ramza clutched the broomstick in a white-knuckle death grip and prepared for the worst. Despite her assurances that she would catch him, he was still afraid of falling. All this fear was for naught as it barely seemed like he was moving up, it was that smooth.

To describe Ramza while he was flying would be to simply point to a boy filled with the joy of an impossible dream becoming real. He felt like he was truly on top of the world, freed from all the chains that bound him on the ground. To put it simply, his spirit soared. He opened his mouth and let out a long laugh, wrapping it up by exclaiming, due to his excitment, "This really is happening!"

((I don't see why not...))

Arche looked behind her and noticed that he was really enjoying himself. Not that she was surprised, flying really was fun. Ever since she was a little girl, she had enjoyed it. Having only fallen once or twice before casting a spell to save herself, she had absolutely no fear of it at all. She then sped up slightly and then asked him, "So, I take it that you haven't flown at all before? I hope that it's everything you've been thinking of! Maybe even more!" She decided to have a little bit of fun with him and make several twists and turns as she continued to go faster. Giving him a little scare seemed to be her intention.

((OOC: Sorry for late tag. Had to study for final tests XP))

Ramza smiled and answered her with, "I have only ever 'flown' once and that time was nothing like this! It's all I could dream of and more!"

Of course, with the wind blowing like it was, the word 'more' might have come clearer than most as then she started to really freak him out with her areonautic acrobatics Ramza regripped the broom tight and huddled to the broom, not opening his eyes until things were settled down again.

((It's fine. I hope you did well.))

"Hmph, well, get used to it! This is a better type of flying, trust me. None of those crazy mechanics to get in the way of a good time!" She said loudly to make sure that he could hear every bit of it. She had learned from experience that sometimes you couldn't quite hear all the things that people were saying if you were going too fast.

As she began to slow down a bit and stop all of the turns, spins, and twists, she looked at him and adjusted herself so that she was sitting sideways, which made it easier to handle a conversation. She giggled slightly when he opened his eyes once more and said, "Don't worry, you won't fall at this pace. I'll stop doing all the fun stuff for a while since you're not really used to it. Do you want to land or shall we keep on going for a little bit longer?"

Ramza's face, despite being happy a moment ago, hardened and his voice lost its joy. "Tis not that.....this another matter altogether that I speak of." The memories flowed in him, raging within his mind; Ajora's ressurection, his sister's rebirth, the battle, the victory, and what he had lost. It was a jarring memory that made the day seem colder and passed clouds over the sun.

When she turned, he quickly noted her eyes and went back to smiling. "I thank thee for flying, but if you do not mind, I wish to return to the ground for a while. One must learn to walk before they can run, after all." He let out a semi-forced laugh and looked at the clouds, the landscape and to the horizon, serching perhaps for the answers that had eluded him for so long.

((OOC: Hey, want to make a new thread to have a monster attack?))

The half-elf witch blinked curiously when he suddenly turned all serious. She subconsciously pouted as she figured there was something that he wasn't telling her. But just what was it that he wasn't telling? Everyone had things that they wouldn't like to speak of, so she simply assumed it was one of those things. She allowed him to have a moment to his thoughts until he began smiling again.

Upon hearing his wish to return to the ground, Arche nodded and immediately directed them towards the ground once more. It was again a smooth landing and she let the broom drop closer to the ground so it would be easier for him to get off. She looked out into the distance, into the land that she had fought so hard to save from Dhaos, and gave a slight sigh when figuring that it was still far from being saved.

((I don't understand why we can't use this one.))
