This will be my last bento for this week. I am off to Ireland for a long weekend to celebrate hubbie's 30th birthday with his family. I had a manic night last night as I wanted to go the gym (I managed to do my usual classes Body Pump and Body Attack but they were running late so I didnt get home until 9pm), pack my bags, cook dinner, make a Bento lunch and two Bento dinners all by midnight. I glad to say that I managed to do all and I managed to soak in the bath! (I decided to make bentos for dinner as I don't like the food that is available in terminal 1 in Heathrow - the UK airports dont have oriental style foods available only pub food and burgers)
For dinner I made backed garlic butter pork chops and potato wedges (instruction below). I didnt have time to make a full bento lunch today so I made a large batch of Onigiri. I stuff the Onigiri with tuna mayonaise and dusted them with waisabi furikake and added nori handles. I tried to wrap the whole onigiri with nori but failed. If anyone has any tips/instructions how to wrap onigiri complete please let me know!!
I made a total of 11 onigiri (3 for lunch, 1 for snack, 3 for my dinner and 4 for hubbie). With my onigiri I have a small slice of new york style cheesecake with blueberries and raspberries.
