so much has happened.
lots of sites, lots of food, lots of strange encounters. from all of this one thing is for sure - i definitely want to travel more in europe. i figured i would, but it is for sure now. everything is so old. all of my family vacations to DC, British Virgin Islands, Canada, etc. cannot compare. Our side of the Earth is boring since nothing dates back very far. The Native Americans did not leave much for us to admire.
I really do feel pretty safe here. As we were walking around tonight with two men that started talking to us in a dark park, I was not scared at all. I mean, there were people around, a cafe, and we were in the heart of Wien so there was no reason to be frightened. Definitely differs from big cities in the US. At least the way it makes me feel. Maybe there is lots of crime, but they hide it well.
So far I have toured Shönbrunn, saw the opera La Traviatta, went on a walking tour of the city, been to the Wien Museum, gone to the flea market, went shopping, had interesting encounters with lots of men, ate thousands of calories of delicious food and wine, and walked many miles. I really wish I knew German right about now. It would definitely come in handy.
Some good quotes I want to remember:
"We are looking for U2." a few seconds later... "U2!!"
"I don't kiss people when I greet them. Except for old people. Old people need kisses."
"You have a cigarette for me?"

O Wien. Interesting times. I want to remember everything. Sometimes I am having lots of fun and other times I just want to go home. The next few weeks will be an adventure.
