HAPPY HALLOWEEN
What did you do this Halloween?
I confess I don't do too many things on Halloween myself, no trick and treat, no celebrations etc...I always make tons of plans in my mind, but hardly ever even do the nth part of them ^^; And in the end, it's just me doing my own things.
So, what did I actually do?
I tried the Starbucks special Halloween : the Frappula Frappuccino! Back again this year too, and I remembered, while drinking it, why it was "spookylicious"...it was because of that fine and thin ice, crunching and breaking like glass under your teeth! Still, I love it!
Well, Halloween deco around the house: well, nothing much, a couple of paper banners with pumpkins and bats that I took out from storage from last year.
Candy: nothing special, I just selected a few things that seemed interesting at the supermarket, without looking further (and it was already enough), like that kit-kat box in the shape of a black bat, or the chupa chups halloween treats etc.. Same things as other years...
Disguise: all these years, I never ended wearing any fancy costumes even though I was tempted countless times; but this time around, I actually caved and couldn't resist from getting a magical wand and the tiny cone shapped hat that comes in pair with it...both were cheap so no regrets. But I didn't use them on myself, and from all appearances, they shall be used as decorations for my CCS mangas on their shelves ^^;;;;; (good for you, CCS tankubons! XD)
Something I was supposed to do but didn't....again!! nendoroid Sakura Halloween set up!! The worst is that I got everything I need from the previous years, so it's not like I can even justify myself by saying I couldn't afford it or receive it in time by mail etc....but I still didn't take the time to make it: I got all the necessary nendo parts (from Sakura Kinomoto nendo and Miku Halloween nendo), and I even got little deco pumpkins from 2 years ago which are still packaged since 2014 and never touched ^^;
Theaters: it's not something I planned, but it so happened that, for three days during last week, I learned that the prices of movies' tickets were cut by half, so I thought it would be a shame not to take advantage of it, and I went and watched...INFERNO, the adaptation of the book of the same name by Dan Brown. I have to say, the first moments of the movie were a real...Hell, in the litteral sens of the word. Perfect for Halloween? ^^;
Gaia online: same as always, aka = changing my avatar's gears into Halloweeny things, and then Trick and Treat through the shops...the 22 shops...collecting candy at each one of them...waiting for 25-30sec before being able to click on each next shop...16 times....SIXTEEN times! (because I wanted all 8 items for my human avatar, and all 8 for my animal avatar).
Pixiv: of course I would go on pixiv and hunt down all the CCS Halloween artworks released at this time of the year :D my fav. this year is the following >

HIGHLIGHT: I was roaming around last week, looking at the different store's Halloween decorations, and found myself at some point in front of the Disney Store, a place I haven't gone in, in quite a while...wondering if I would find interesting goodies related to The Nightmare Before Christmas, I stepped inside, following the shiny deep blue space themed like road that travelled all around the store...Well, there was mugs, pillows with the shape of Jack's head, quite a big flexible doll of Jack too (really loved that one ^_^ and also a little plush toy of his dog (actually, the 2 girls in front of me *queuing in front of the register* bought them all).
But all in all, while I do love TNBC, I didn't feel like collecting any of those merchandise, and was going to go back home, when I saw it: captured in the corner of my eyes, in the midst of countless mugs and cups of every possible shapes, standing there all on it's own, the last of its kind, without even a tag on it (it had clearly been ripped off, unlike all the other different mugs/cups around it which all had their price tag sticked on their bottoms), was that Beauty and the Beast mug I fell for at first sight. It's been ages since I've last bought a mug, and this one made me smile from ear to ear :)
I'm not sure you can appreciate it from the pics, but it is beautifully engraved, this is not a smooth surface, it's more like stained glass.
But on the way home, I started thinking: damn, I went out to put myself in the mood for Halloween, which will be in a few days, but here I am, purchasing a girly romantic pink rose engraved mug from a fairy tale...a rose...a fairy tale.......the curse of a rose...! These words just suddenly popped out in my mind, and my smile widdened even more than before: indeed! It's not all about ghost, bats, horror and pumpkins! It can also be magic, sparkles, curses and enchantments!
And this is how, my Halloween week started: wtih the curse of a rose~
(haha, I left the first day for last teehee~)
...which naturally leads me to the actual day of Halloween (because everything I listed above was the 7 days before it) >
October 31st, was a day dedicated to ... caramel, apples and cinnamon ๐ ๐ ๐
Since I already had my curse of a rose, I had to do something about the cursed apple too...in a yummy way~
So! I baked apples pockets, apples muffins with chocolate chips, and also caramel apples, and Butterbeer, a drink from Harry Potter which I found interesting and easy to make: mix together vanilla ice cream, butterscotch and cream soda (I replaced that by coca cola vanilla), then top it all with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon powder~
Conclusion: the apples pockets and muffins were perfect, the caramel apple was a total fiasco (how do you eat that super harddened caramel??!) and the Butterbeer... was an explosion of sugar in the mouth, I seriously felt like my insides were rotting away from all the sugaaaarr!!(...perfect for Halloween...?). It might have been possible to drink it in a lesser quantity (at least 1/3 less), and definitely not joined together with the other desserts at the same time, like I did.
And that's it for Halloween 2016!! See you next year!!
[BTW, I started writting this post last night but fell asleep in the middle of it...I thought about changing the date to oct 31st since LJ allows us to put whatever date we want, but meh! I'm leaving it on November 1st, that'we when I finished writting everything after all ^^]

For the one of you who missed them, or simply do not follow really closely the news on clamp's twitter account, here goes the illustrations by Nekoi which were released during the month of october, Halloween themed artworks. They are pretty big sized, I even used the Mokona one as a wallpaper for a while this month ^^
