figma Tomoyo Daidouki: School Uniform ver.
Yes, it's official, Tomoyo Daidouji school unform version FIGMA by Max Factory - Good Smile Company is available for pre order starting today! She is the 5th CCS figure released so far by GSC.
The official release date was also revealed: June 2016. That said, considering previous nendoroids ans figmas release dates have both been changed several times in the past, I wouldn't know if we can trust this date 100% ^^;
Her official price is 5800jpy at GSC online store, but you will encounter her for lesser prices elsewhere; do take in consideration though, that the only way to get the bonus part is to preorder it from the GSC online store.
Some details:
- Using the smooth yet posable joints of figma, you can act out a variety of different scenes.
- A flexible plastic is used for important areas, allowing proportions to be kept without compromising posability.
- She comes with her gentle standard expression, a warm smiling expression as well as an expression for filming!
- Her school bag is included to pose her on the way to school, and an alternate front head part with a hat is also included.
- Tomoyo-chan's beloved video camera is also included, along with an arm part to recreate her famous 'hand on cheek' pose!
- The joined hand parts can be used by Tomoyo-chan alone or together with figma Sakura Kinomoto: School Uniform ver. (sold separately) to display them holding hands!
Bonus part (when preordering directly from GSC):
For the ones who don't know (or forgot), a bonus part was also gifted to the people who pre-ordered Sakura Nendoroid and 2 figmas from GSC online store: it was the sealing wand and the star wand in the form of a charms, and the clow book. So by pre-ordering nendo and later on figmas, the buyers got both keys as charms + the book; that's a nice touch considering they really didn't need to do that for the rabbid fans of CCS worldwide to buy.
This time around, we are getting a more...'normal' bonus? It's simply an extra face expression for Tomoyo: Cheerful Smiling Expression.
REMINDER: for the ones who haven't been following (or simply forgot), I remind you there is still 1 more figure yet to be released = figFX sakura battle costume ver. (the battle costume is the one she wore in her fight against Watery)
Now, my personal opinion about this figure...mmhhh...well, the quality and authenticity are both there, nothing to complain about, and the fact she comes as a pair with the previously released Sakura figma is charming as you can see on the photo above, but I couldn't get myself to be too excited about it either, because it really feels like they are releasing the same figma as the Sakura uniform ver., with one unique difference: the head...which is pretty much it, actually, not just how I 'feel' about it. I would personally have loved to see the winter uniform from the manga, which was a long sleeved dress with wine red tights and boots + the coat...now, THAT would have been lovely!
