MLP Review - s2e15
So last night I had what I guess was another migraine. Took the new meds again, and had nausea and gagging all night, resulting in no sleep. I managed to make it through by reading Dracula and The Scarlet Letter on my kindle and watching Nostalgia Critic videos on youtube in the basement. Even then, telling myself ‘x hours until my little pony’ was the only thing keeping me from breaking down and sobbing in frustration. (Which it turns out didn’t work as I still had four hours to go and I still wound up sobbing in frustration.) So, yeah, I really needed this new episode to give me some form of cheer. Fortunately, it’s an AJ episode, and I really like her, so my hopes are high.
Talk about surprise openings! Fluttershy, stop blushing, you’re giving the shippers fuel. And the ‘years’ is an interesting note, and connects to my theory that besides Twilight, the gang knew each other before the show started. Now it’s just a matter of deciding when and which ones knew each other before knowing the others, head-canon fodder ahoy. Damn, this must be some good cider - maybe the pony version of getting crunk. Already amused and intrigued by the opening! RD, why exactly do you need FS there? Just wanted to share some cider with her? So cute.
I see the Cakes (who’s babysitting the twins?), Bonbon, Berry Punch… Sapphire Season? Wonder if that’ll be an episode. That does actually sound like it could be worthy of a plot/episode. Sparkler and Pokey! … Why not just buy a barrel? Wouldn’t that make more sense? Lyra! Cherliee! Gosh, these other unnamed ponies are real cute. Hey, RD already paid! I do agree that’s unfair. Colgate! Caramel! Fluttershy is the voice of reason as always - Berry you bitch you already had some! Hey, a lot of you had some already! Such greedy ponies. Pinkie a friendship lesson you need this season is to shuuut your pie-hole. (Pun wasn’t intended) And… we’re entering pony steam-punk?
… Okay it’s been five seconds and I love these guys. This song is awesome, their design is awesome, these characters are awesome, DERPY GO AWAY FOR FIVE SECONDS GEEZ, though I am surprised that Unicorns are doing this. This seems more like an Earth Pony kind of deal, since so many Unicorns are snobby in Canterlot. Interesting! Rarity apparently digs mustaches, your plan from last season could have worked, Spike! Doctor Whooves! I LOVE THIS SONG, THANK YOU FOR APPEALING TO MY BROADWAY FANATIC SIDE. I will admit it’s a little long, but damn, it’s just so catchy and fun! Oh snap, Big Mac can actually say things besides Eeyup! My heart swoons - WAIT, LOSE SWEET APPLE ACRES? WHEN DID THIS SHIT GET SO SERIOUS? WHEN DID THE BROTHERS TURN INTO ASSHOLES? DDDD: I blink and everything’s changed!
Wow these ponies are ridiculously impatient. This must be some crunk-tastic cider. RD you have an addiction, please seek help. Carrot Top! Apple Bloom shut the hell up my god they will be poor and all your fault. … Oh fuck I have a bad feeling about this. Aj you have every right to be worried. Hey, mane six? HELP YOUR DAMN FRIEND. What was the title of this show again? IDK What Big Mac and Granny are wearing but I expect to see millions of fanart for both. Whooves with an hourglass! Now THAT is proper fandom pandering, just a quick few seconds to show you care. Ah… I honestly hope they pull some kind of AJ’S FAMILY TASTES BETTER CAUSE IT’S MADE WITH LOVE shit cause I really have no idea how they’ll win otherwise, that magic machine is nuts. WHY CAN’T AJ’S FRIENDS HELP MAKE THE DAMN CIDER? WHAT LESSON IS THIS TEACHING? QUALITY OVER QUANTITY, TECHNOLOGY IS EVIL, WHAT - oh we’re back.
Poor family ;; And Rarity can do math! FINALLY, THE FRIENDS LEND A DAMN HOOF. And awwww, they’re all a part of the family! Fluttershy and Applejack together, heehee. Wow, Twilight is a quick thinker, able to give them the best jobs so quickly! And… I have a feeling that sucking in whole trees and destroying the damn apples with it is not going to help your quality, Brothers. This is going to get some RD/Big Mac shippers happy, I can tell. … J-Jesus that’s a lot of barrels… And Aj sounds so heart-broken ;; and the Brothers are now officially ASSHOLES. They even have evil laughs! OH SURE NOW THE CROWD FEELS BAD. Hurray, it tastes like shit! BonBon why does your voice change every time you speak. And… that was a mighty quick resolution. Aww, everypony wins with this one. LMAO ‘I DIDN’T LEARN ANYTHING I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG’ applejack I love you so hard! BEST ENDING EVER!
This episode certainly did its job to cheer me up.
