The car drama finally came to an end today around noon. I had called roadside assist when the car was first stuck, and waited till almost 2am for them to come. I called every tow company in the book, the city police a couple times, and finally gave up and went to sleep. I called them at 6:30 this morning, and was told someone would be out between 8:30 and 9. He called, and said he'd be here in 20 minutes. At 11am, I was calling roadside assist back, and complaining. The tow guy came and left! Some of the neighbors around the cornor saw him leave! So, thanks to our awesome neighbors, the tire was changed (in less the 30 minutes, even with the icy mess) and I had the car to the tire place in less than an hour. While
jacobsladderpa and I were gone, one of our other neighbors raised all kinds of hell with the city, and got the street cleaned!!! She's quite the powerhouse! So we spent several hours outside with our neighbors, meeting them, helping them move cars and clean sidewalks. That was cool, getting to know our neighbors. It took a front end loader and a snow blower from the city to clean our street. It was pretty cool! It reminded me of my childhood on Punkin Ridge, when the local coal company would use a front end loader to clear the roads when it snowed.
