I can't sleep because I'm PISSED OFF.
I got back into Athens around midnight from Atlanta. I was close to my house when in the lane next to me, two guys in a truck started shouting obscenities at me out their windows. I pulled in front of them and kept on course, then turned into my street, when a cop pulls out behind me flashing his lights. Wtf?
So I stop in front of my house. He gets out and walks towards me, and I asked, "Can I pull into my driveway? I live right there-"
"STOP THE CAR NOW."
Holy shit!!! The way he yelled at me, made me think he was stopping me for having drugs or killing somebody or something, like he was ready to take me down. So I was pretty freaked out!!
I asked was there a problem officer.
"You didn't stop at the stop sign."
"What stop sign?"
"On East Broad and Foundry."
"...By the train tracks?"
"Yeah. License?"
Ok, let me explain what I mean by "by the train tracks." Foundry street T-junctions into Broad from the north. Right past that there are train tracks that haven't been used in I don't know how long. They're just covered in garbage and shit. There's no train track stop thing painted on the ground, and no gate arms or yellow lights, because the tracks are not in use. The stop sign? It's not for Foundry Street, oh no. It's FOR THE TRAIN TRACKS. That's right, the STREET doesn't need a stop sign, but the UNUSED TRAIN TRACKS do.
Anyway he took my license and gave me a fucking ticket!!! His being a superdick and all made me hesitate to tell him that some guys were being lewd and I was getting away, like he would mace me or something.
I'm gonna fight the shit out of this. Also, petition to get that stupid sign removed.
