Softball Practice
I'm sitting at softball Practice freezing my butt off. It was 71 when we pulled up but there's a lake behind me and the wind coming off of it is freezing. I'm not sure where I can move to sit though since I don't want to sit in the dugout the girls are using. And I feel bad getting up and moving without the girls knowing where I am (they are currently way out in another field working on fielding; I'm by home plate where I can see them but they can't see me). All that to say - I'm freezing.
This team is going to be way different than last years.... I think I liked last year better. The coach was wayyyy into softball. His step daughter was on the high school team and in the traveling allstars. He was big on teaching them technique and form. The coach this year also had a team last year... and I think it bit me in the ass when I kind of joked every time we had to play her team. It was excruciating... u could tell they didn't actually teach them anything and the games would go for forever... Guess i better pencil a LONG day on the field this year.
On the plus side maddie and sophia are.loving it. Sophia looks so tiny and cute LOL the helmets don't fit her so she has to scrunch her shoulders up when she's at bat. It's too funny.
Tomorrow is sophia's 5th birthday. I can't believe it. We got her a baby alive doll (cause that's all she's talked about lately; I better not be changing doll diapers in the coming days LOL). We're going to do a big summer party for all three girls again so tomorrow well give her her present and then find something for us to do for the day (boardwalk, zoo, bowling, aquarium, something along those lines).
Easter were going to my parents house. I have mixed feelings on this. My sister, her husband and their daughter all just got over the stomach bug that we had. They've been better since wednesday-ish. They were back to work by Thursday (had it from Friday to Tuesday total) but I have this fear that they can still pass it... and then there's my parents who haven't had it yet (and hopefully don't get it). We're supposed to go do something during the day then head back to my parenst for dinner. My mom suggested the boardwalk or park for the day. I wish we could do whatever we plan on doing for the day.... and then not share food LOL
I don't know how these kids are running around in tee shirts. It's freaking COLD. At least my girls didn't fight me about wearing long sleeves and a sweatshirt over that.
Ok hoping it's about wrapping up. We're going on 45 minutes and I think that's the max practice time at this age. Can't quite remember the rules while shivering so much.
