I'm currently sitting here waiting - impatiently - for 3pm to roll around so I can get the hell out of this office. Unless of course there is anyone else left here to walk thru and see that me and two other team members are pretty much the ONLY people left in the department. My boss is out today so she isnt here to say we can leave any earlier. Everyone else's boss told them to go, and then they packed up. The only one left is the CFO and his secretary and they havent said a damn word. The next hour is going to go soooo slooowwww.
So an end of the year wrap up, which seems fitting for the day -
In no particular order.... This year we:
*Finished our kitchen (finally). The backsplash and crown moulding were the final pieces to be done.
*Paid off - and got rid of - Kevin's truck.
*Bought a mini van (shudder)
*Started getting my pictures in order
*Started getting more organized in general
*Put up a stockade fence in the backyard
*Paid off a few credit cards
*Added a few new balances to credit cards...
*Took the girls on an awesome trip to Disney world (see above re: new balances on credit cards)
*Maddie joined a softball league
*Maddie and Sophia started dance
*Sarah started talking
*Kevin marked his one year anniversary at his job with a business trip to NYC and more responsibilities
*My job still sucks
*Maddie got all A's on her report cards
*Took the girls on their first plane ride
*My grandmother and grandfather both passed away, nearly 6 months to the day from each other....
*24 hours taped up to a heart monitor and one (lousy) stress test later, the doctors shrugged their shoulders and said "sometimes people's hearts beat like that". I should probably add a follow up to this to my list of 2016 goals...
*I was Maddie's class mom... a job I will probably do once for each child and never look back...
*We survived the Ice Age of last winter... only to have to run the air conditioner on Christmas Day this winter... weird...
There's probably a ton more I'm forgetting but this is what sticks out easily.
Goals for next year - same as always. Get more organized, pay crap off. We've come a long way in the debt department - and probably would be at zero right now if not for living a little. We could have skipped Disney, and maybe not put up an expensive fence, and maybe ordered in a little less... but life, you know. We're close to our financial goal though and that is an awesome feeling to have :)
Only another.... 39 minutes... till I can get the hell out of here. Guess I'll go poke around on Pinterest or Facebook for awhile.
Happy New Year!!!
