We didn't have dances back home.

Why would I need help getting ready? Half the fun? If getting ready is half the fun, no wonder I've never been to a dance. Sounds boring.

No, I mean often the girls meet up before the ball to get ready together! You can help each other with your makeup or costume and have some girly fun without any boys around!
