Interlude - Soundtrack again...

There is so much stuff I should post soon (my America pictures and two more drabbles), but this is a mood post first of all. Just because.

And before anyone out there starts to worry - please don't. This is almost entirely original-story-related, meaning the 'I' is not me. I'm fine :)

Sometimes I end up feeling vaguely inspired by songs - or even liking them - even though I don't like the genre/artist/style in general. For example, I don't like rap, but I somehow grew quite fond of "Love The Way You Lie". Especially the Part 2 (which is basically Rihanna's version of the song, with her singing and just one 'obligatory' rap verse by Eminem).

Trying to pin down why I liked this song in the first place, I guess it's the (unusual) message, and the fact that it represents how messed-up a relationship can become even though none of the people involved really wants it (if the most positive thing you can say to someone is that you love the way they are lying to you, it's pretty messed-up in my opinion).

Being especially concerned about the latter (as it plays a certain, significant role in my original story), I really adore the first 2.5 minutes (basically the two verses) of Part 2, because they are not obviously about beating your girlfriend, but more about a (partly) dysfunctional relationship in general, and the odd mixture between attraction and destruction created by this situation.

"On the first page of our story, the future seemed so bright.
Then this thing turned out so evil, I don't know why I'm still surprised.
Even angels have their wicked schemes and you take that to new extremes.
But you’'ll always be my hero, even though you lost your mind.

Now there's gravel in our voices, glass is shattered from the fight.
In this tug of war, you'll always win, even when I'm right.
Cause you feed me fables from your hand,
With violent words and empty threats and it’s sick that all these battles are what keeps me satisfied."

And just for completion:

Don't worry, the upcoming drabbles are entirely positive. It's romance for a change (bet you didn't expect that ;).
