Happy Halloween!

Heya

I know, lately I seem to neglect my journal a little bit... There is just so much I need to do (university-  and job-wise), even though I’d prefer to spend my time with other things.

Anyway, today it’s time for another sequel of “Pagan Celebrations in a nutshell”. And I bet you all know which one it is this time... After all, it’s Halloween, isn ( Read more... )

*Squeeeee* That hamster is so stinkin' cute! His little hamster butt sticking out of the pumpkin is my favorite :D

This entry calls for dead bunny XD

This was an interesting overview :) I think you told me this story before, but it's good to hear because I sort of forget. Maybe I'll remember if I hear it enough :D I think it's interesting how many Christian holidays have pagan roots. It's also interesting that you know so much more about Christianity than I do ;)

I think in our culture death has been created as something to be feared, but it's a natural part of the life cycle. I think a celebration is in good order :) You know, I don't think I asked you, but do you believe in ghosts? Oh yes, I know you like dark things ;) I remember I was talking to my dad about death on an airplane. One of the flight attendants walking by said, "My, that's an awfully morbid thing to talk about." My dad raised his hands in surprise and said, "My daughter is the one that wanted to talk about it."

Anyway, I hope your weekend is going well! I'm going to take my third nap today. I didn't have ballet so I actually get both Sunday and Saturday off :D *Hugs*

Yep, that hamster is cute. Still the same photographer I showed you when you were over here, but a different hamster. Don't you have a friend who likes hamsters a lot?

This entry definitely calls for a dead bunny... I should have looked for an (un)dead kitty ;)

Most - if not all - Christian holidays have Pagan roots. That does not mean that Christianity is 'immitating', they just took over old traditions that people were used to, and gave them a new meaning.
Well, I was raised a Roman Catholic, and those are supposed to know one or two things... ;) Though I doubt I know more than you do.

Do I believe in ghosts? Well, that's a tough question... I surely don't believe in the kind of ghosts we see in horror movies; but I somehow believe that the 'spirit energy' of a person can still be around under certain circumstances (damn, that sounds odd...), and that it is possible that the dead can influence or contact the living. But only very subtle, and in very rare cases.

My weekend is going well so far, I just realize that I won't get all the work done (as usual). I have to write a theory paper for university (due on the 17th of November), and I haven't even started yet... (*sigh*)

Maybe you're on Skype later? We could talk for a little bit...

*hugs*
