(no subject)
Okay, so this day started off bad and got worse.
First, I had morning duty today, so I had to be at work at 7:15. Fine. Except none of the other teachers who had morning duty bothered to show up until 7:25. You would think that in such a small school, 10 minutes wouldn't be that big a deal. It was absolute chaos. I stepped into the gym and immediately had to break up a fist fight between two 7th grade boys (both named Cody, what else?), one of whom is bigger than I am. While all this was going on, I glance over toward the cafeteria (the gym is across the hall from the cafeteria; in the mornings, 5-8th graders go to the gym and K-4 go to the cafeteria until the bell rings) and kids are literally running wild. There was a lunchroom lady watching all of those kids! No teacher in sight, and I couldn't leave the gym because I didn't want Cody-squared to start fighting again.
The rest of the day, kids were just insane. You would have thought it was the Friday before spring break. I practically had to sit on my hands at one point because I wanted to strangle a child who thinks he is VERY funny, but is really just a smart ass whose classmates don't even find him amusing.
Got some bad news when I got home... don't really want to talk about it. Actually, I would probably talk about it, but I don't have anyone to talk about it TO who would understand what I was talking about, and definitely not anyone who can give me any answers (no offense to those who are reading) so... anyway. Grr.
Just a shitty day all around.
If I didn't want to make sure to see the finale of Project Runway, I would totally get Kelly to drive to Huntsville tonight so I could have a good margarita. As it is, I'll have to make do with a bit of rum & pineapple juice. Cheers.
