New Henckles ad

Apr 27, 2004 15:16

I just thought that I'd let everyone know, since you all seem to be so concerned, that there is a new Henckles ad. It's for the Professional S series, 23 piece set. And the prices are correct, $1565 or $999 on sale. If you dont believe me, pick up a copy of the William-Sonoma catalogue, the prices are in there.

Just thought I'd let everyone know.

The New Close is as follows:

"Please, please, please won't you buy these worthless knives?"

(If yes, get signature and payment)

(If no, offer oral sex to customer)

actually i found out that in the new close you do indeed compare the homemaker + 8 to the 23 piece set, that makes no sense, cutco is decieving peope...again

that's because the 23 piece set is including the block, scissors, and (i think) the sharpening tool. so take those out and you are comparing 20 pieces to 18. it's still not exactly the same, but it's close. their set also includes several paring knives.

i know it's not exactly the same quality or whatever, but it is the closest set to compare to the homemaker+8.

No...the Henckels FiveStar 18 piece set was the closest set to compare to the Home Maker + 8, but Vector must have known that they were decieving people so they changed it. They could just compare the HomeMaker + 8 to the REAL Henckels FiveStar 18 Piece Set, but then it would Show Henckels as being cheaper, which it is.

No. Henckles doesn't really have an 18 piece set. That was just put together by Vector to have something comparable. But the set does not exist. Vector is trying to clean up their act, per say. with the new ad. The 23 piece set exists, and is the closest sest to compare to the Homemaker+8.

Vector put that set together to make it looks like Henckels was more expensive.

And Henckels DOES sell an 18 piece knife set in block, it just has different knives than the fake set that vector made up:

Also, there is a closer set than the Pro S 23 piece set

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00006CJLJ/qid=1085216043/sr=1-5/ref=sr_1_5/102-4963099-9947323?v=glance&s=kitchen

This is the Pro S 20 piece set, it costs $599, and has 2 more knives than the HomeMaker + 8, but the HomeMaker + 8 is $859, and that doesnt even include tax or shipping.

Did you notive that the actual list price for the set was $966? The $599 is the amazon.com price which is 36% off the list price. Granted you get the set for cheaper than ours, but it's just on that website. Henckles wants to sell the set for $966. And you only get 16 knives and a meat fork. the block, sharpening tool, and shears are what makes it 20 pieces. If Cutco were to do the same thing, the Homemaker would be a 21 piece set with the block, sharpener, and cutting board.

Okay, that is what I'm getting at. Henckels doesn't sell that set for the much, they always list that price and then cross it out, because it makes it look like you are getting a deal. If you noticed they listed a bunch of websites that had the set for that much. Also, doesn't it make you feel bad that you know that the customers can get the knives for cheaper and you are telling them that they are more expensive? I know it made me feel bad when I was a rep.
